Akiol was unsure just how much he was to reveal to Dot. He wasn't willing to put all his faith in that Guidebook Your Guiding Hand owned. However one thing was clear, something or someone knew that Akiol wasn't from this world.
Since this much was known, Akiol was a little more willing to exchange this bit of information to help him find answers. On the off chance this information got loose, Akiol was always able to deny such rumors. After all who would believe it?
That also meant that there was a chance Dot wasn't going to buy his answers and thus become uncooperative. There was simply too much in the air for Akiol to make a good assumption on how to proceed.
Additionally it seems this 'Averoth' was guiding the conversation. Akiol could sense their presence, but could not hear any words. At most he could tell Dot was waiting between his questions, consulting the strange soul that lingered.
It was his turn for the question anyway, "Why did you call me an anomaly?"
