Yun Lih found it hard to imagine that Xia Siyu, who was already an adult, could still be made to cry by a scolding from an elder.
He frowned, took a sip of his beer, and looked at the woman in front of him who was suppressing her tears. His words were surprising, "Shall I curse them out for you?"
Xia Siyu lowered her hands and looked at Yun Lih with teary eyes, unsure whether to cry or not.
"Come on, you're an adult and still crying. What kind of emotional resilience is that?" Yun Lih seemed sarcastic but was actually comforting her.
Xia Siyu felt disheartened, wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes with her fingertips, and turned to go back to her room.
Yun Lih coughed twice behind her, but did not ask her to stay; his gaze drifted to the dusky scenery of Western Hills beyond Myst Town, heaving a bored sigh.
He contemplated that it was time to start heading back to Nia State.
