"Is Xixi with you?"
Qin Zhiyou pinched his temples, while beside him, Secretary Wang was still bringing him coffee. Having not slept for a day and a night, his entire train of thought was as chaotic as a mass of dark clouds: "No, I'm at the company."
"Xixi didn't come home last night."
This sentence from Lu's mother startled him so much that he jumped up from his chair. Secretary Wang was bringing the coffee right in front of him, and he stood up so abruptly that he knocked over the coffee cup. Black coffee mixed with white milk foam stained half of his shirt, but he was completely unaware.
Secretary Wang was taken aback, and before he could clean up, he heard Qin Zhiyou's voice becoming more and more suppressed, yet louder and more clear: "How is that possible? Didn't she go home early last night?"
