Han Fei stepped out of the headquarters building and suddenly stopped. He turned to look back at the structure behind him, where the night seemed unusually dark.
"What are you looking at? Get on," Li Xue said as she pushed her motorcycle over.
"Li Xue, don't you feel your teacher has been a bit off lately?" Han Fei had only met Li Xue's teacher a few times, but he felt as though he had known the old man for a long time.
"I'm puzzled too. Normally, the teacher is very strict with us; he demands the highest standards in everything related to cases. But he's been particularly lenient with you, even openly acknowledging you as his student at headquarters today." Li Xue couldn't make sense of it: "The teacher's students are all top-notch police officers. Now that he has vouched for you, even if you do something easily misunderstood in the future, the police will likely take your side."
