"What on earth is the gravitational influence of the Moon and the Sun here?" Harrov was perplexed, as they had obviously left their original position and could not receive any light emitted by the stars.
He had even tried digging downward, only to find that there was nothing below the rock layer and it was not connected to anywhere at all.
"This is probably because our three-dimensional coordinates have not changed," Lynn pondered out loud.
"So you're saying we're actually still in the same place?" Rafael found this a bit hard to grasp.
"You could say that," Lynn smiled. "For instance, imagine this continent as a point in a two-dimensional coordinate system, with both X and Y axes being one. Now we've shifted from a planar to a three-dimensional space, adding a Z-axis whose coordinate has changed from one to ten. What about the X and Y axes? Could you say they've changed?"
