Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: A familiar? world

After the adrenaline has calmed down, I gaze around the foreign bedroom where I am. The wall is painted royal blue with a golden pattern decorating every possible corner of the room.

The furniture reminds her of that one European-styled suite that I stayed at for a contest in university, except this bedroom is a hundred times more extravagant. Almost everything is covered in gold and sparkling jewels, even the bed sheet I am sitting on is of top quality.

I have to steer my gaze away from the blinding sight in front of me, and then I notice the long golden strands of hair falling from my shoulder. My skin also felt softer and smoother, like touching a baby's skin. I practically rolled out of the cocoon I made with the thick blanket, trying to find something to look at myself.

Spotting the big body mirror on the left side, I quickly made my way off the tall bed before fully sprinting toward it.

'...huh?'

My reflection no longer reflects the not-so-youthful overworked adult body, but instead, a child-like appearance shows itself in the reflection. Long golden mane with beautiful blue eyes and flawless, smooth skin except for the calluses following the base of each finger and palm. Whoever this face or body belongs to, it is not mine, most definitely.

A sudden headache washes through my head, making me fall over on one side. My vision twisted as the world turned into a piece of modern artwork with swirling colors. As my vision slowly cleared, I could see strange shining particles floating in the air before disappearing.

Standing back up from the floor, she rubbed her sore bottom that had landed too hard on the solid surface. The girl let out a small groan before blaming the piercing headache for whatever god put her in this situation.

Her eyes wander around again before landing back on the mirror, more specifically, the mirror frame. The weird symbols on it that she thought were some kind of decorative pattern now turned into letters that she could read.

~Amelia Laurel~

Admittedly, the gears in her head started to click into place. She sprints toward the bedside table, yanking the drawer so hard it almost falls off its hinges, and takes out a little notebook hidden under a stack of blank papers and crayons. The thin paper cover was decorated with a little ugly doodle or an attempt at drawing the Laurels' family insignia.

She closed the drawer before sitting down on the floor and started flipping through the contents inside. Page after page is filled with joyful discussion about little things that occurred around the Laurel mansion, with vibrant drawings detailing her family.

" I am Amelia."

The image of a gorgeous little girl with blonde hair and blue eyes was indeed the same in the novel. "Flower of Eden" was very descriptive about every little scene and character's details.

This story circles the heroes' adventures and missions as they traverse across the plain of Menaali, exploring and learning about their new world.

The main character, Alex Donovan, is a transmigrator from another world with no knowledge of the world he has fallen into. After settling down, he makes friends and meets rivals and enemies along the way. He later gained power that is on par with many higher beings of different species, and together with powerful allies, fought against the impending danger that is breaching into the world.

Although it started with a light-hearted story, the plot later delved into the hidden conflicts that threaten the safety of those around him, followed by a war raged across the land, creating a perfect scenario for the heroes to show their full potential.

I repeated the name Amelia a few times, working my brain cells to remember the role of this character.

Oh...

I think I am doomed.

I am pretty sure I am destined to die.

Well, I meant 'she' is destined to, but...ahhhhhhhhh

In the novel, Amelia Laurel is a side character who helps save the main character and his party in exchange for her life. Her death was destined to happen when she reached 26 at the end of Volume 4, before the main character reached his full potential. There is not much presence or any major or minor plot points relating to her in the main story, as her only role was to serve as a tipping point, a lost friend, and a link/connection to stronger allies, which would be her family.

'I don't want to end up with the same fate as in the novel '

I don't know about you, but I would prefer staying alive to getting devoured by some weird monsters to help morally fortify and toughen the main characters like the original Amelia.

I jerked my head to look up at the ceiling. My initial panic has calmed down considerably compared to before. Taking in a shallow breath before rearranging the story plotline as I hurriedly scribbled down the little diary with the crayons she found inside the drawer.

It can be deduced that at this point, Amelia still hasn't encountered the main character yet. The reason for that is Amelia still lives in the side palace, or the Spring Palace, in the Laurel estate.

In the story, all children born of the Laurel bloodline will stay in the Spring Palace until they turn 15. Afterward, children will be situated in the Autumn Palace in a room they will be using until they either become the head of the household or move out for marriage and other reasons.

Other houses, such as the Summer palaces, are used for employees and guests. While the Winter Palace is used for banquets and business. The novel described the sight in the Autumn Palace room compared to the Spring Palace as heaven and earth. It is said that extravagant furnishing can even put the royal palace to shame.

And by the look of it, Amelia's appearance also shows that she has not yet reached the age to change palaces. She only had her first encounter with the main cast in her coming-of-age ceremony when she reached 15 in a royal banquet.

The trasmigrator befriends Amelia in the academy as they go through all sorts of challenges and difficulties to become stronger. Throughout their journey, they would meet many fateful encounters and strong allies.

'I can't go around all willy-nilly either'

In this land, you can walk into a random store and meet a hermit master in hiding. This point makes it easy for the main cast to make it big with little effort. If you have the right resources, the right kind of mind to build something big, and a lot of spare change, then anything can be made possible in Menaali.

In the old world, I only had a handful of classmates and seniors with whom I was closely acquainted, but barely met up with outside of work and school since everyone had their own lives to live. There is no family for me to return to other than the elderly building manager, where I live.

I could guess that she had possibly died or that something had happened to my body when I fell asleep, which resulted in my transmigration. I was in a deadline rush, running around collecting necessary material, all the while working part-time and studying over the week. Surviving on coffee, energy drinks, and instant noodles, or you call it the poor man's diet, or my daily meals:')).

Even the rich jerk who causes all of these problems for me stops in his path and gives her a cheering pat before shoving his spare change into my hand. It is safe to say that I wanted to give him a kick in the shin for that move. Could I have looked so pathetic that even that kind of guy would give me pity?

A heavy sigh escaped my lips as the pen in my hand came to a halt.

I barely hold any strong connection or many good memories of the place she called home for over 23 years of her life.

Maybe this transmigration is worth her while after all.
