[Chapter Size: 2500 Words.]
Third Person POV.
Oldtown.
...
...
While chaos began to spread over the next few days in the west, the Reach still hadn't heard anything about the news despite the ravens being in full swing, flying out to all sides of the kingdom.
In Oldtown, more specifically, in the Citadel, the scholars continued to walk through the corridors of the great academy that created many brilliant minds. And among that crowd of mostly middle-aged men trying to earn their chains, there was someone who shouldn't be there.
Jon walked calmly wearing a scholar's robe, but with a hood, hiding his presence as he passed unnoticed through the place.
It didn't take long for him to see the great library right in front of him, displaying hundreds of thousands of books around the largest area of the academy. He had to admit that this was the biggest library he had ever seen in his life—even in Tamriel, nothing like this could be found there, and if he didn't know he was in this world, he would swear he might find an Elder Scroll there.
But setting that aside, he turned his attention back to what he was looking for.
"If I had to search without magic, I would certainly give up..." Jon murmured, leaning against the railing before the staircase, and stood there for a few seconds as people constantly moved behind him.
Without saying anything else, he followed the crowd moving toward the library via one of the staircases, raising his hand slowly, using clairvoyance to search for the book he was after.
There were people rushing up and down the ladders collecting books—these were people working for gold coins or young men starting their academic life.
Either way, he passed hundreds of people reading books at their desks while silence tried to be something common in that environment. Of course, that was inevitable with so many people there and ladders moving back and forth, yet everyone seemed quite focused, avoiding external distractions.
Jon followed the light he discreetly created and moved to one side of the library as indicated by the spell, advancing to a row of books among the hundreds.
He released more of his spell due to not knowing which of those books was the one he sought. So the white smoke kept moving straight toward the point it indicated—on the fourth shelf out of more than twelve on each floor of the library, while he was still on the ground level.
"That's strange... Where did that smoke come from?" a voice appeared beside Jon as a young man with a ladder showed up, looking oddly at the straight white smoke coming from the shelves, not knowing what it was and even mistaking it for dust.
Jon turned to him.
"Can I borrow your ladder?" he asked, since the man had appeared right next to him.
"You want a book? I can get it for you, which one?" he asked, offering his services.
"My tutor asked me to transcribe one of these books. Can you get that fourth book above the third shelf full of red books? It's the fourth book starting from the bottom up," Jon said, giving an excuse, while the man found nothing strange and nodded, despite Jon being hooded.
He simply set up the ladder and climbed before reaching for the book Jon had pointed to and bringing it down to him.
"Here," he said, handing the book into Jon's hands.
"High Septon Maynard's personal diary... That sounds pretty intense... If you want, I can get you another, smaller book," the young man suggested, showing he was literate, but Jon smiled in satisfaction.
"No... this one is perfect," he simply said—here was the record of his father's marriage and the proof of his true name.
"Remember, you can't leave the library with the book. There are guards at the entrance and only Grand Maesters can allow that, but you need a letter for it, though your tutor should've already informed you about this," he added.
"Alright..." Jon murmured, still looking at the book, while placing it under his arm and turning his attention back to the young man.
"Here." He made a point of handing over a gold dragon.
"This..." The young man couldn't help but be stunned, nearly dropping the coin on the floor. "Why?"
"I'm just showing gratitude. Farewell."
Jon then turned and left the young man there, confused, unaware that he had handed Jon one of the greatest secrets of the Seven Kingdoms—one that could completely change its political and monarchical structure.
But the latter looked at the coin with satisfaction—there were some people from great houses who didn't mind distributing a bit of their family's gold for trivial things. After all, this was his job and he got paid for it, though never a gold coin. It seemed like luck had finally found him at that moment.
Meanwhile, Jon passed by the tables as his book vanished from under his arm—the most important thing he could find there, he already had. Now he wanted to move on to his next plan.
He went back up the stairs heading for the exit from where he came, passing through the crowd while the guards watched for anyone carrying books, except for Grand Maesters with their many chains coming and going occasionally.
Jon exited the library and continued down the academy's corridors, entering an area where fewer and fewer people could be seen, once again following his clairvoyance, reaching the deeper areas to the point of only going down and down staircases.
His eyes glowed as he used abilities to detect living beings, locating guards in lower positions beneath him and one or another man with many chains, indicating people of high rank in some of those rooms.
'Looks like I'll have to deal with the guards from this point on...' Jon murmured as he approached another staircase.
He moved on without torches or seeing one, advancing down the stairs until he reached a lit area—the entrance to the forbidden section of the Citadel.
"Who are you?" Upon seeing a strange man walking down the stairs in a hood, the guards said, quickly noticing him—even using spells to keep a low profile, he was the only one there, so it became ineffective.
Jon kept walking, getting closer and closer to them.
"I asked WHO are you—do not come any closer!" Finding it strange that the man came out of the darkness without answering, they became alert while drawing their swords from their sheaths.
Jon approached and simply raised his hand, throwing both guards with invisible force against the walls on either side, taking them down with ease.
He then continued on—though he had invisibility through one of his summons, he still had to open the door anyway.
Opening his hand as energy appeared in it, he cast a spell that unlocked any door or lock—a spell of alteration.
Touching the door, it simply opened. That's why he could rob any place he passed through, as the door unlatched and opened. Jon placed both bodies inside while closing the door right after.
'There's someone down here.' Jon was slightly surprised to see someone coming out of the vault as he kept walking.
An elderly man was still in those corridors as he headed out after placing some things in the vault—being a Grand Maester of the highest level in the academy. As he walked, he suddenly noticed something strange in that hallway.
He could've sworn he saw a shadow passing by, immediately turning around startled, but as the light caught part of the corridor, all he could see were shadows ahead, with no sign of anything else.
"What was that...? Am I seeing things..." he murmured and continued forward with a bit more caution.
Meanwhile, Jon was walking through the darkness using his magical eyes to see. He raised a small key from the entrance of that place where he had locked the door so the man wouldn't be able to open it—he was going to play with that old man upon seeing the door shut and no key, with two guards lying on the ground.
And so it happened.
"Ahhhh! Who's there?! Help! Open the door!"
The echoes rang down the corridor while Jon wanted to laugh but kept walking until he found another staircase.
Still ignoring the Grand Maester's protests—after all, he still wanted to talk to him—he finally found the vault: a massive door.
He didn't look at it much and quickly cast his magic, unlocking it as the sound of it opening echoed through that chamber, revealing a very large space to Jon.
His eyes could catch everything there—barrels of wildfire, gold, Valyrian steel, gemstones, many books and scrolls, along with many other things.
"So this is the secret section of the Citadel... well-stocked," Jon said, satisfied as he stepped into the room.
He then went toward the barrels of wildfire—that would certainly be dangerous—and began making everything disappear. Maybe he could use them for something in the future, storing everything, as he would do with the rest. But first, he went for the books.
'Let's see how involved you were in the fall of the Targaryens...'
Jon sighed as he quickly began searching for books with his clairvoyance in search of answers.
The steps of the old man kept echoing down the corridors as he descended those stairs. He was terrified—first, finding two guards knocked out at the entrance, then realizing his key was no longer at his waist, believing he must've left it in the vault or something.
Luckily, he still had the vault key. But the fear of someone being there with him overwhelmed him, and no matter how much he shouted, no one answered his call, making his throat dry as he had no choice but to proceed to the vault.
He was sweating, his heart pounding as he got closer and closer to the place, believing he would find someone—an assassin there to kill him. But still, he had no choice but to check with his own eyes, even trying to wake the guards in several ways, but nothing worked.
And as he reached the place, his fears were confirmed when he found the vault door open—though he could swear he had locked it.
"There's someone in there!" he thought quickly, trembling.
Even so, he continued forward—he needed to find out who it was and moved ahead.
As he passed through the door, he could see by the light of the place, with the torches he had lit before, someone reading a book with their back turned, making him proceed with caution.
"Tell me, meistre or Grand Maester, did you know that the Meisters created a network of control through which they could manipulate everyone in Westeros?
Interesting... so that's how they managed, in a way, to start the war—being in the ears of each of the lords, manipulating all kinds of messages, filtering what should be given to their lord and what shouldn't... even manipulating...
I must admit, it's truly impressive the weight the Citadel holds in the politics of the Seven Kingdoms, behind the curtains..."
Jon said in a short speech without turning around, calmly looking at the book, while his words echoed through the place and the old man remained silent.
"W-who are you?" he finally spoke, stuttering as he wondered who this was, listening to his words without seeming more concerned about the fact someone had invaded the Citadel's vault.
"Just someone curious and here to make you Meisters pay a debt for what I suspected... and now am certain," Jon said calmly.
"Even Pycelle was involved in many things in the Mad King's ear. Damn, I really wish I had known that earlier... I'd have gone back to Winterfell and killed him slowly. Shame I didn't know."
Jon continued before finally turning around.
The man took a step back as Jon appeared with glowing purple eyes, no longer hiding beneath a hood.
"I wonder... are you also involved in this still..." Jon said, since the man hadn't answered his question.
"You're robbing the Citadel!" he accused, but Jon simply brought him down with telekinesis, without him realizing what had happened, as he collapsed to the floor.
"He won't talk... and I don't have control over minds... But he can help..." Jon commented, analyzing the old man as he used a summoning spell.
A Dremora appeared, while the air quickly darkened as if the place itself was dying—beings of chaos and destruction.
"Vahrnok tali'kethar nuul dravos... ekar vahran tal'vokth narak dosh?"
(Did you summon me to destroy someone or an entire civilization?) the Dremora asked in his tongue.
Jon sighed at the creature's enthusiasm, then pointed at the old man.
"Wake him and use your powers to make him speak the truth to any of my questions."
The creature nodded, walking forward in its spiked armor.
Meanwhile, Jon decided to clear out the entire vault, so he began stealing everything in sight—without caring about adding even more gold to his already towering piles.
He had stolen gold from the Red Keep after what he did to Cersei Lannister, along with the Iron Throne itself, which remained with him to this day, and had made a point to steal all the gold from the brothels and houses of Littlefinger, as well as the gold of anyone he disliked in King's Landing, wondering how they reacted upon finding all their vaults empty.
Regardless, after taking everything, he returned to the Dremora beside the old man, who was kneeling with glowing eyes, indicating he was under the spell of the malevolent being Jon had summoned.
"Let's see how deep you are in this scheme designed to destroy my father's family..."
Jon commented as he approached to begin the questioning.
This would be the first, for he would remain in the Citadel a while longer, before scanning the minds of every member of the high ranks—and he'd make sure to leave a few of them without their precious heads on their necks.

I asked ChatGPT to create the Dremora's sentence in Dreadric, since there's nothing official about the language.
I'm thinking about stealing the Lannister vaults too... Maybe he should make a little stop at Casterly Rock?
Besides that, I'm going to write a reaction chapter before Jon shows up north of the Wall.
