Lily stealthily hid in the corner of the corridor, carefully listening to the distant sounds, a slight unease flickered across her mouse face.
"What are they talking about? Can Monster Sister cheer up Mr. Charles?"
Just as Lily was wondering whether to get closer to eavesdrop, she felt something hard and brush-like pressing against her fur from behind.
Startled by the noise, she quickly turned around and saw a big, fluffy face appear in front of her—it was using its tongue to lick her.
"Ah! Heihei! I didn't expect you to still recognize me after so long! That's wonderful!" exclaimed Lily as she joyfully pounced forward.
"Meow~" It was one of the two cats she had owned just before she died; the kitten had grown big and fat.
After playing affectionately for a while, an excited Lily jumped onto Heihei's neck, patting its smooth black fur with her tiny paws. "Let's go, it's been so long since we've played outside."
