DAMON'S POV
After I found my way inside the gate, I felt completely lost but needed to blend in so as not to be spotted.
I simply nodded at everyone that passed by while keeping a straight face.
I need to find a way to let the others in. I thought to myself.
I walked around the premises observing everyone and the entire surrounding.
I heard a few gossiping about the girl with the fifth element that had come in yesterday.
Cassie. I hope she's safe.
I saw an entrance and decided to make my way Inside it.
"Hey! Over there! Where are you going?" I heard someone call me out.
I turned to the stranger.
"Nothing. Was just looking for my friends." I told the strange Man.
"You won't find them in there. Everyone is gathered at the assembly ground waiting to meet the girl." He said to me.
"The girl?" I repeated.
"The fifth element. And That's where you should also be right now. Not searching for your friends." he said to me.
"Yeah same goes for you."I said boldly.
"Come on follow me." He said to me and I followed him to the assembly.
On getting there, there was a wave of chattering, noise and murmurs coming from the crowd of people.
Who are all these people? Do all of them have elemental powers too? Wow. This war really is happening. The worst part is I don't think everyone at school combined is as much as the crowd I'm seeing here.
We're cooked if this number comes for battle. I need to warn my mother.
The chattering stopped immediately a man from the top balcony started speaking.
I scanned everyone standing above us and saw her. Cassie.
Thank goodness she's alive and well.
Now the problem would be how to actually get to her. I'm pretty sure she'll be guarded well.
""Everyone welcome! I am glad to have you all gathered here." An older man said aloud and everyone cheered for him.
I kept silent as the cheering was going on. I might be undercover but there is no way I'm cheering for the enemies.
""As you all know, we don't have much time to waste as battle is fast approaching before us and we need to be aterly prepared. The time for us to be finally free is near us and I am positive that we will come out as champions." The man said to the masses.
Everyone continued to cheer loudly at his speech.
"And the good thing about this battle is that we will have The Fifth Element with us!" He roared and everyone cheered louder than before.
What the hell?
I thought to myself.
"She will be our leverage against them. With her by our side, we will destroy them all who opposes us. We will triumph against our enemies!" Xavier said and everyone continued cheering and roaring.
So that's why she was kidnapped. So they could use her to win the war.
I don't know why I was suddenly furious. I really need to get back home and warn my mother about this. Most importantly I need to get Cassie out of here.
I was looking right at her and I noticed her scanning the crowd.
Was she looking for someone?
I was elated when my eyes finally caught hers.
We locked eyes for a while and I smirked at her. She let out a smile and shook her head a little like she couldn't believe I was really here.
She looks even more beautiful than I remembered.
I gave her a reassuring nod and I saw her breathe out, like she's been holding her breath for long now.
"Now is the moment you all have to double your trainings, get stronger and fiercer. We attack in seven days time. They won't know what hit them." The man said and retruded inside. Everyone standing up there followed suit. Including Cassie. She gave me one last look before she disappeared inside.
"Can't wait to teach those little brats at that school a lesson. I'll freeze them all over." I heard someone talk in the crowd and people around him laughed.
"I wouldn't underestimate them though. You don't really know what they're capable of." I chimed in and they turned to me.
"Oh yeah? What they know is basic elemental magic. They have no idea about it's complexity. Like this." He conjured up a ball of water and froze it mid air. And lunched it directly to me with speed but halted it right before it came to contact with my face. The ice ball fell right before my feet and broke into pieces. I smirked to cover up the shock I was feeling.
Deep down I was so shocked to see someone else with ice powers like me.
I knew people who were born with any extra power were casted away from the school, but I didn't know I would find them here.
I was thinking, does it mean every single person here has an extra power?
This is bad. Really bad. And when I said we were cooked before, that was an understatement, we're super cooked now.
"You're right. They might not know about the complexities. But they've been learning elemental magic since they were born. I'm pretty sure they know how to manipulate and manifest it to their Will." I said trying to sound unfazed.
"Why are you talking like you know them well? What? Are you with them?" Someone asked me aloud and everyone turned to me.
"What? No way! I hate those guys, those little brats. Always acting high and mighty, can't wait to get them good during battle." I said trying to sound convincing.
"So what's your specialty?" One of them asked me.
"Specialty?" I repeated, a little bit confused.
"Your extra power? Dude are you new here or something?" Another one asked me.
"New ish yeah. And my specialty would be this.." I said and conjured up an ice sword that looked really fancy and sparkling with sharp ends.
I heard some awes and admiration from the crowd. Looks like they're impressed.
"Whoa, that is awesome! You gotta teach us that." One of them said.
"Why? Don't you know how to conjure up a sword?" I asked them.
"Not all of us know how to do that. We mostly just stick to ball of ice and spikes. Which is the easiest to conjure up." One of them explained.
I guess I have an upper hand in that department. Thank goodness.
"Oh. Well I'll be sure to teach anyone that wishes to learn." Yeah like that's ever going to happen.
"Okay we should get back inside." One of them said and everyone started leaving the assembly one by one.
I waited for everyone to clear up, thinking and waiting for an opportunity to open up the gate for Jake and the rest.

Once it was night fall, I went to check on the gate, and saw two guards standing there. I hid at a corner so they wouldn't see me.
Great, how am I supposed to distract those two now?
I thought hard and for long before an idea came into my head.
I'm gonna build a snowman.
I chuckled at my own idea and how stupid it sounded.
But this wouldn't be the first time doing it.
I remembered when I was a kid, Jake and I sneaked out and needed a distraction, so I built a snowman to help create a distraction until we were back.
Okay. Snowman it is.
I conjured up water and conformed it's shape into that of a man, then blew streams of snow into it from my mouth.
This was a little trick my Mom taught me when I discovered I had ice powers.
The snow became one with the water and stood firm. And There my snowman was ready.
Now all I had to do was control it's movements.
I used my whole body to control it. I moved my head to the right and the snowman did the same. I moved my head to the left and it did the same as well.
I stomped my feet on the ground and it did the same.
Great. Testing done and it works.
I hid at a corner and controlled it. I led it towards the guards and they seemed startled to see it.
"Geez, what the hell is that?" One of them said to the other.
"Is that a..... snowman?" The other one asked.
"Yeah but how?"
"And why is it just standing there, staring at us?"
"I bet it's one of those ice freaks playing games with us." One of the guards said.
"Of course it's them. There's a freaking snowman made of ice standing right in front of us."
"What should we do?" One of them asked.
"I say we ignore it." One of them said.
"Or we could destroy it first. It's making me feel uncomfortable." One of them said.
I raised my hand to wave at them and so did the snowman. That made them almost jump in fear.
"You're right let's destroy it." One of them said and they started Coming towards the snowman man. I picked a race, running at the same spot in the corner I was hiding but the snowman was running away from the guards, which left the gate guard less.
I quickly opened the gate for the rest of them, and peeped out for a minute.
"Jake! Sage? Guys?" I called out to them in a whisper. And luckily I saw them running towards me.
I motioned for them to run faster. Phoebe was the first person to get inside the gate.
Wow she's fast. Must be an Air element thing.
After a while, the rest of them caught up, they all entered the gate and I closed it back and we all went hid at a corner.
Right on time the guards came back to their position.
"Stupid snowman, why did it suddenly stop running?" One of them said.
"I have no idea. It's weird." The other replied.
Jake looked at me accusingly "Snowman? What are you, 6?" Jake questioned.
"It worked didn't it? I got you guys in." I said to him and he shrugged.
"So what's the plan now?" Sage asked.
"Hold up, firstly, there's something you guys need to know. And you're not gonna like it." I said to them and they all payed attention.

JAKE'S POV
I can't believe it's happening so soon.
I mean I knew the war was going to happen one day, but I didn't know it was this soon. I haven't even found my father yet.
I can't die without meeting him again. Even if it's just once.
Poor Cara doesn't even remember what he looked like anymore.
"I can't believe people with extra powers actually exists, I thought it was all made up. Damon did you actually see with your own eyes? Ice powers?" Gia asked Damon and he nodded and looked at me before looking away.
I've always known Damon had ice powers for years now. Since we were kids. When I first found out, I thought it was so cool and I still do.
I don't get why the school prohibited it.
Made me think of how many people that might actually have extra powers in school but are hiding it just like Damon. I'm pretty sure he isn't the only one with extra powers in the school.
"Look I know we're all shocked about this new development but let's not forget why we're here. To save Cassie. We cannot let them use her. She's one of us." I said to them and they all nodded in agreement.
"But we all can't be here. We have to split up. We need some people to go back home to warn them about what's coming. We need to give them a headstart." I said to them.
"Split up??? No. No way. We're better and stronger together. Splitting up is not a good idea. I'm against it." Madeline said.
"Can't believe I'm saying this but, I kinda agree with her." Cara supported her.
"Jake's right. People at home needs to know what's about to go down. Some of us will stay back and help Cassie, while some will go back home to warn everyone." Sage supported me.
"Well who exactly will stay And who exactly will go back?" Damon asked. And we all looked at each other.
