While Saffron went to help my brother and Gael in the sky, I flew straight at the crimson dome. The fox inside had yet to emerge. His illusion was undone, so what was he plotting inside of that barrier? Or was he cowering inside, hoping we would exhaust ourselves fighting his allies and then pluck us like flies?
Ha. He truly was that vixen's father. Cyra always hide behind others. Be it Eileen or her own illusions. It made me wish I had hit her harder when we were kids. Maybe yanked her hair off. But knowing Rose, she probably would want us to be nicer to her, hoping she could grow up to be a kind person.
The thought of Rose's unwavering kindness brought a small, fleeting smile to my lips. She always believed in the potential for good in others, even if I couldn't see it myself. But now was not the time for reminiscing. There were more pressing matters at hand, and I had to focus on the task before me.
I gripped my sword tightly and covered it in earth mana.
