No surprises there.
But the real surprise came right after.
Yi Lin blew Nikola Tesla's head off with a single shot, but as he stared at the neck, devoid of any blood yet crackling with buzzing sparks of electricity, his expression turned serious. Without any hesitation, a portal appeared at his side. Yi Lin stepped through it and exited from behind Nikola Tesla.
BOOM!
A bolt of lightning crashed down from the sky, striking the spot where Yi Lin had been standing just one second earlier.
Had he been even a second late, whether he survived or not was one thing, but getting struck by lightning was inevitable.
Yi Lin stood side by side with the Supreme Mage.
They stared at the figure in the near distance—its head gone, yet its body still moving—both faces etched with vigilance.
They knew all too well—this wasn't over!
