Sophie Sullivan, who was about to leave, heard these hushed whispers. Her brow furrowed. "Do you all want your tongues cut out?"
The maids' eyes widened.
Sophie turned back to them. "If you keep gossiping behind my back, I'll cut out your tongues and feed them to the crocodiles."
"Maniac, if you're angry, take it out on me. There's no need to trouble them." Minimus Hart stepped forward, protectively defending the maids.
What is she angry about? What could she possibly be angry about? How laughable.
"Minimus Hart, stop trying to stir things up. I'm not angry."
"If you're not angry, why are you targeting them?"
Minimus Hart's every word accused her of harboring resentment because she hadn't been chosen to accompany Thomas Shannon.
