Nia Mitchell looked up at Julia Adams, genuinely confused about the constant mockery and sarcasm directed toward her.
"Julia Adams, are you really that concerned about me?"
Julia Adams faltered, then gave a cold laugh, unconcerned.
"I'm curious to see if you'll find someone even more incredible than Hendry Hampton to cling to. Oh, right, I remember you quit your job for him. Now you've lost both love and career, haven't you?"
Julia innocently reminded her of this, and Nia just chuckled.
"Thank you for the concern, but I've already got a new job. And as for love, I've found that too."
Nia admitted she was intentionally irritating Julia, but as she said those words, Maxwell Peary's indulgent smile flashed in her mind.
She didn't bring up Maxwell Peary because he wasn't a tool she used for boasting.
Thinking of Maxwell Peary, she suddenly wanted to see him. She had promised to stay put and wait for him but hadn't told him she was going to the restroom.
