Chapter 173: Uzumaki Boruto

"It feels familiar," murmured Kurama, his voice echoing softly within Setsuna's body.

"What do you mean, familiar?" asked Setsuna, turning his gaze inward to the beast sealed within him.

"The chakra... it feels ancient. And yet... I know I've felt it before," Kurama replied, narrowing his eyes. "There's a presence—something timeless about it."

"This chakra is over a thousand years old," Setsuna responded thoughtfully. He could feel it too. Dense, heavy, filled with power—yet strangely resonant.

"I'm sure of it now," Kurama said firmly. "I've encountered this dragon before. The chakra it emits… it's the same."

Before Setsuna could reply, the Uzukage approached him, his robes flowing lightly as he came to a halt by Setsuna's side.

"What do you thing of this fuinjutsu?" the Uzukage inquired, eyes scanning the sealing marks etched across the floor.

Setsuna studied the markings carefully. "It's far more complex than I expected. But Kurama seems to recognize it—something about it feels familiar to him."

"Familiar?" The Uzukage frowned. "Could it have originated from the chakra tree?"

"Nope," Kurama replied bluntly from within Setsuna. "Tell that old man the chakra tree emits a completely different kind of energy. This isn't the same."

"He says it's different," Setsuna relayed, confirming Kurama's observation.

Just then, both Setsuna and Kurama jolted slightly. A ripple, a sudden wave of that same chakra—stronger now—passed through the air. It came from the southeast, about 150 kilometers away.

"Kurama," said Setsuna quickly, his tone sharp. "Did you feel that?"

"Yes," the great beast replied. "The same chakra… it's flaring again."

Before Setsuna could speak further, an overwhelming blast of chakra energy surged toward them. He barely had time to react. Instinctively, he reached out, grabbed the Uzukage's arm, and activated Kamui. A swirling vortex opened and almost swallowed them, just as the flare reached their position.

The powerful chakra blast passed through harmlessly, unable to touch them within the Kamui's dimension.

"Sensei!" shouted Kagami and Kirito in unison, eyes wide with worry as they saw the attack erupt.

Queen Julia, sensing the danger, extended her control to stabilize the chakra in the surrounding area. But before she could fully suppress the energy, two figures suddenly materialized within the room. The flare died down instantly as if silenced by their arrival, revealing two individuals—one of them is an adult who are tall, poised, and undeniably powerful while the other one looked like mischievous teen.

Setsuna's eyes widened. As someone who had watched the Naruto series, he immediately recognized them.

The first was none other than Uchiha Sasuke, clad in dark robes, his eye scanning the room with caution. The second was a blond-haired boy with distinct whisker-like marks on his cheeks—Uzumaki Boruto.

They had arrived in the ruins of Roran, the very place Setsuna stood now. Setsuna knew that in their own timeline, they had traveled here chasing Urashiki Otsutsuki, hoping to intercept him during one of his time-jumps. Apparently, they had succeeded—but something had gone wrong.

"Who are you?" the Uzukage asked warily, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the two strangers. By their appearance, one clearly carried Uchiha blood, while the boy wore a Konoha headband and had features similar to Namikaze Kirito.

Sasuke remained silent, choosing to observe rather than speak. He could tell from the headbands, from Kagami's expression, and from Setsuna's Sharingan, that this world was not their own. He was being cautios, this mission was too important to risk they didn't want to disturb the past and the only reason they come here is to kill Urashiki Otsutsuki.

But Setsuna stepped forward. "I think I know where they're from," he said, shocking everyone in the room.

He pointed to the younger of the two. "That boy is wearing a Konoha headband… and the other is an Uchiha I've never seen before. My guess is they're from the future."

Boruto looked surprised, but impressed. Sasuke, however, grew tense.

"You're from the future?" asked Kirito, eyes widening with excitement. Kagami looked equally stunned, though a hint of joy sparkled in his eyes.

"Yes!" Boruto beamed. "That's right."

"Oh, I'm Namikaze Kirito, and this is Uchiha Kagami," Kirito introduced himself cheerfully.

Hearing the name Namikaze, Boruto's expression shifted. His eyes shimmered with emotion. Sasuke, too, looked momentarily shaken. Could this man—this Namikaze Kirito—be Minato's father?

"N-Namikaze Kirito?" Boruto echoed, barely believing it.

"Yes," Kirito replied with a smile. "Relax, there's no need to be nervous."

Years of training alongside Setsuna had made Kirito into someone dependable and warm—his energy reminded Boruto of Might Guy, but with the calm grace of Namikaze Minato. He was a perfect fusion of both.

"I'm not nervous," Boruto mumbled defensively before introducing himself. "I'm… Uzumaki Boruto."

"Uzumaki?" Kirito raised a brow. "Uzukage, could he be one of your descendants?"

Sasuke, hearing the word Uzukage, turned to look in the same direction.

Boruto heard it too and nearly shouted, "I'm your great-grandchild!"—but he held back.

The Uzukage, meanwhile, focused on Boruto, trying to read his chakra.

"No," the Uzukage said at last. "His chakra is different. I sense multiple layers within it. Especially on his palm—there's something foreign there."

"Is your father a Jinchūriki?" Setsuna asked suddenly.

Boruto blinked. "How did you know?"

Instead of answering, Setsuna activated his chakra mode. A brilliant, golden-red aura of Nine-Tails chakra enveloped his entire body.

Swish!

The room glowed in warm hues of power. Everyone stared in awe.

"This… this looks just like my dad," Boruto whispered.

"What year is it in your timeline?" Setsuna asked calmly.

"It's the 81st year since the founding of Konoha," Boruto replied.

"Then you didn't come from the past," Setsuna said. "You came from another universe."

"Another universe?" repeated Sasuke, his voice tight with concern.

"Yes," Setsuna confirmed. "Judging by that boy's features—he has Namikaze blood, Uzumaki chakra, and even traces of the Hyuga clan. That combination doesn't exist in our world."

Namikaze Kirito was stunned. His heart pounded as a thought crossed his mind.

"Are you… my grandson? Or great-grandson?" he asked slowly. "My son's name is Namikaze Minato."

The truth now hung heavily in the air.

And Boruto, standing there with shining eyes, realized something that shook him to his core:

He had just met his great-grandfather.
