She remained silent, not knowing what to say. She wanted to take a seat, but felt like it wasn't her place to do so, and thus stood awkwardly. Su Nian didn't pay her any attention and continued to stir the pork rib soup quietly.
"Sister-in-law, this is Lian Ze, he is three and a half years old today," Lian Qing said, breaking the awkward silence with a smile.
Su Nian looked up, nodded lightly, and lowered her head again.
"Zeze, call her Auntie," Lian Qing said, gently patting her son's little hand with a smile.
Lian Ze peeked at Su Nian, then Su Nian looked back at him. It seemed like a joke to Su Nian, calling the child born to Lian Qing and her husband, Zheng Haoyu, Haoyu's 'uncle', and referring to her as 'auntie'. This must be the biggest joke she'd heard all day.
Ignoring Lian Qing's request, Lian Ze turned his head and with both hands around her neck, asked, "What is her relationship with my dad?"
Su Nian looked puzzled. What did he mean by 'her relationship with my dad'?
