Elena's POV
The trees thinned out as we neared the clearing, and that's when I saw it an old cabin, worn and crooked, like it had been forgotten by time. Its edges looked splintered, beaten by the wind, and just beyond it was a cliff that dropped into an endless abyss. The air felt heavier here, charged with something dark.
"She's here," I whispered, already pushing the car door open before it fully stopped.
The guards moved fast, weapons drawn, eyes sweeping the area. Lucas gave Dante a nod and took the left flank. But I wasn't waiting for orders.
"ANTONIA!" I screamed. My voice ripped through the cold air. "COME OUT!"
No answer. Just the rustling of the wind in the trees.
"I KNOW YOU'RE HERE! GIVE ME BACK MY SON!"
And then, like she'd been waiting for the perfect moment, the cabin door creaked open.
