At the bottom of the priest's steps stood a middle-aged man in a suit, his features showing signs of age yet not masking his youthful handsomeness. Now, he carried an added sense of steadiness and composure gained through life's experiences. His eyes looked towards the door, his gaze indifferent, his face showing neither joy nor sorrow.
Today was his wedding day, but he couldn't feel any happiness.
When he was young, he also fantasized about a day like this. He would stand here, watching the woman he loved walking towards him in a beautiful white wedding dress, handing her hand to him, and under the priest's witness, they would make vows for a lifetime.
But then his dream shattered. He thought, he would remain unmarried for life, stay by her side, and watch her happiness and joy, without any regrets.
