[Chapter Size: 1800 Words.]
Third Person POV
Somewhere unknown.
...
...
"I understand..." the dark voice said, while the Dark Lord, cloaked in his dark cape, hid his face in that dim room in his castle after receiving a visit with some strange information.
Information that could lead him to consider that the Black family was indeed betraying them...
"Dark Lords then... they are our enemies...?" the member of the Lestrange Family asked cautiously, having gone to meet the Dark Lord right after leaving the Blacks' house.
"Astraea has been behaving strangely different in the past few months. She sold the shop to that one who's been hunting noble families and defying us. I'll have to see her personally about this. And, if she really is joining the enemy, she and her family will pay. It doesn't matter if they are powerful pure-blood members or not in the magical society," he spoke with a dangerous tone.
He had obviously tried to gather information about the mysterious alchemist, but the Black family was under the goblins' magic, and obviously, they couldn't break the contract. Even if he tried to force it, it was useless.
After the goblins and Astraea herself cast the spell on their own family members, the Lord felt there was something there that intrigued him.
"So... you said that this... Severus Snape was there? With Dracula's daughter and Astraea's granddaughter?" he said, seeming truly surprised to hear that.
"Yes. You must have heard of Severus Snape. A half-blood who has been defying many noble families since last year. But no one has been able to deal with them..." the man said.
"Yes, I remember him. A few times... from that time when Abraxas Malfoy wanted to recruit him, saying he was a good alchemist. And I even became interested, even though the Rosier family wanted to kill him. But it's still surprising that you find him with the Black family and seeming quite at ease.
Something feels very strange. The Black family would never grant such freedom to a half-blood. What is going on?" Voldemort pondered as he questioned himself, trying to understand how this was possible.
"What is so special about this simple Hogwarts student?"
"I heard that the Prince family is..." the man commented.
"Yes," Lord Voldemort replied to Lord Lestrange's comment.
"The two brothers contacted us, as long as we helped them get rid of Severus Snape. They are in despair. They believe that getting rid of the boy may change the kind of curse that fell upon the family," Voldemort said, and it was quite intriguing.
It was known that the Prince family could no longer produce heirs, as they were under a kind of curse that not even Voldemort fully understood.
They got to the point of believing that eliminating the boy, their sister's son, could change everything.
At the same time, the boy was not easy to eliminate. No one managed to kill him during the holidays, and it wasn't for lack of trying — while someone was killing dark wizards...
Now the boy was at Hogwarts. As long as they eliminated him, they would follow any order from Voldemort.
Voldemort hadn't denied that request in the end.
Even though he had heard from Lord Malfoy about the boy. But in the end... the Prince family was more important, or so he thought.
"Anyway, leave that aside. I was even going to summon the Prince family to act tonight... but I'd better deal with the Black family later. I want you all to be prepared. Do you understand?" Voldemort said, as Lord Lestrange nodded.
"Of course, Dark Lord," he said, lowering his head in an act of submission.
"Thank you for the information. And also, bring your son. Let's see how the boy is doing in becoming a Death Eater," he asked, as the man nodded and left the place.
Voldemort was alone at that moment as he looked out the window, while his snake, Nagini, slithered up his arm.
"Severus Snape... interesting... but enough of these games now," he said in a dark tone.
"It's time we finally act."
Voldemort was resolute. He would finally take action against the wizarding world, and the Muggle world would tremble that night.
He had been passive for over a year. His recent activities were limited to robbing artifact shops and failed attempts to attack Hogsmeade, losing many soldiers, with only small actions in recent months threatening some families that were still undecided about following him.
There were many families that still claimed neutrality, and some already declared opposition. He would wipe out all who acted against him, especially those allied with Dumbledore. As for those who remained neutral, they would receive no benefits when he took over magical England. The same might even come from abroad if that alchemist—someone he needed to eliminate once and for all—was involved.
"I need to find every possible ally," he murmured, while thinking.
His negotiation with Dracula had somehow been interrupted, and seeing his daughter being sent to Hogwarts showed that Dracula was more open to allying with Dumbledore, which frustrated Voldemort. He had thought the ancient vampire would become his greatest ally... but now he also seemed to be his enemy. At the same time, this confused him.
Furthermore, Dumbledore was acting differently. His public appearances were limited to brief statements, while he had not been as involved with politics in the past month, and many were beginning to suspect that he wasn't the real Dumbledore. This led Voldemort to consider that perhaps the alchemist had already defeated the old wizard and was now impersonating him.
"And if he really defeated Dumbledore... could I handle him?" Voldemort murmured.
Dumbledore was the only wizard in England he wasn't sure he could defeat. But now there was the mysterious alchemist—Hogsmeade's killer. If it's true that he's more powerful than Dumbledore, then he will be the greatest obstacle of all.
At the same time, that doubt would be cleared up tonight, when events unfolded.
"For if Dumbledore truly is real, he will act. Otherwise, it will prove that it's not Dumbledore."
And, at the same time, it would open a chance for Voldemort to attack Hogwarts once and for all—something he had always wanted. Taking Hogwarts would prove he had no more barriers to launching a full-scale attack against the magical world, taking control of both the Ministry of Magic and all other magical areas by force.
He already had on his side most of the great wizarding families who shared the ideology of blood purity.
Meanwhile, at Hogwarts...
Snape had returned. He found Rosaria in the Room of Requirement, not having left it since he had left her, saying he had another commitment. Upon entering, he found her and Clarisse, who were glaring at each other the entire time.
Pandora was also among them, but she seemed unstable under the intense glares both were exchanging.
"What is this?" Snape said as he appeared.
"You're already fighting with someone else?" He addressed Rosaria.
"Why are you always surrounded by women? Don't you see they all have some kind of interest in you? Any woman would be jealous of that," Rosaria said openly.
"You're way too jealous, girl. I've been Snape's companion for over a year. You're the one who showed up out of nowhere and started demanding absurd things just because you're a professor. I don't care what family you come from," Clarisse said stubbornly.
"You clearly have intentions with Snape. You and this girl here, because the entire school now knows they were out together last night," Rosaria pointed at Pandora.
"She's dragging me into this too? Well, I guess Snape doesn't mind having many women at the same time," Pandora said, as if it were no big deal.
While Clarisse and Rosaria glared at her furiously, the girl didn't even seem to care.
"Master Snape!"
Suddenly, Dobby came out from one of the hidden corners.
"Master, help me, please! Protect us! Dobby is scared of Miss Rosaria! She's been furious since you left!"
Snape sighed.
"Can you all stop this. Rosaria, go take care of Atlas and his companion."
"Clarisse, go tend to the plants I'm growing, they're rare."
"And Pandora... look after my library, and before that, take Dobby to the other elves in the kitchen and calm him down there."
Snape gave each of the women around him their orders as he turned and disappeared, leaving them all stunned.
He reappeared in Salazar's Room, surprising the portrait with his sudden visit. Without saying a word, he picked up one of the ancient books and began to read right there, eager to acquire a bit more knowledge before the night unfolded.
Meanwhile, in a town distant from England's magical centers, a man emerged—cloaked in a dark veil, the very embodiment of death. A small snake coiled on his shoulder. Before him, dozens of Death Eaters stood in formation. Not only them, but countless creatures waited in silence at their side.
"Dark Lord," they all greeted in unison as Voldemort approached.
"I see you are all here. That is good," he said, addressing both his Death Eaters and the werewolves beside them.
"Yes... you've given us an irresistible invitation, Dark Lord," replied Fenrir Greyback, the werewolf leader, his voice thick with a growl. "We'll have a great feast with the humans tonight."
"Very well. Tonight, I want no mercy," Voldemort declared coldly.
"We will begin to instill fear across England. Tomorrow, they will wake up to an entire town exterminated. It's time we remind them of the terror we represent. We've grown too rusty over the past year—suffering nothing but defeats."
The families were all present—even the Prince family, now among his ranks. Others, like the Black family, had been excluded. Voldemort had chosen not to summon them with the Dark Mark anymore. He no longer trusted them.
"Yes, my lord. We are ready to follow your orders," the Death Eaters replied as one.
Voldemort moved through the crowd, passing toward the elder members and their sons—those who would act for the first time.
Abraxas Malfoy stood beside his son Lucius, who looked visibly tense. The same held for the Lestrange heir and the eldest son of the Nott family, standing nervously near their fathers.
"Tonight, you will prove your worth," Voldemort said, his eyes fixed on the young men.
"Remember: no mercy, no pity. We, the magical, must dominate the Muggle world. They must kneel before us. Tonight, we show them what happens to those who resist."
His voice deepened, his presence overwhelming.
"Let the world tremble under the Dark Mark."
And with that, his body dissolved into smoke—vanishing into the night sky.
The Death Eaters surged forward, some taking flight, others drawing their wands and disapparating. The werewolves howled and began running full speed toward the unsuspecting town.
All across the area, dogs began barking madly, sensing something no human could. The night air grew heavy with magic. Above, a chilling mark began to take shape in the clouds:
a skull with a serpent slithering from its mouth, glowing with dark energy.
The townspeople looked up, their hearts sinking.
Moments later, the attack began.
