Queen Miranda strode past the morning court, her steps echoing too loudly in the sudden hush of the hall. The Ministers stood outside the court room,with worried eyes. The court session had been abruptly cancelled closed off without explanation. That alone was strange enough to stir a wave of rumors through the palace walls, but she wasn't about to feed into any of it.
She'd heard the complaints already, that the king had been refusing to accept guest in his chambers. That the king refused to meet with anyone. Not his children nor his wives. Not even his heir. That something was… wrong.
Her jaw clenched, fingers tightening around the folds of her dress as she walked faster through the east wing. When she arrived outside the royal chamber, her suspicions only deepened. The maids all of them had been dismissed to wait in the hall. The royal physician stood there too, wringing his hands like a man afraid to be asked questions he couldn't answer.
