The sky was turning dark when Delilah and Jessica got back home from the cemetery.
Jessica opened the front door and sniffed the air.
"Mmm," she said. "Smells like something yummy."
Delilah smiled. "Dad must be cooking."
They stepped inside and saw their father in the kitchen, wearing an apron with a funny cartoon on it. He was humming softly as he fried some meatballs.
He turned when he heard them enter and smiled, "You both look really pretty," he said with a proud smile.
"But I look prettier," Jessica said as she walked over and kissed his cheek.
"You wish," Delilah said, making their father laugh.
"How did lunch with Hunter go?" he asked, smiling.
"It was fun," Jessica said as she leaned over to see what he was doing.
"Ooh, is that meatball?" She asked, picking up one.
"You see with your eyes not with your hands," Delilah hissed, but their father laughed.
