Late Shen Hour, Wufu and Madam Zhou took a carriage to the restaurant. Before they set off, they had sent someone ahead to inform them of their arrival, so when Wufu and her mother arrived, Manager Zhong was already waiting for them at the entrance.
"Greetings, Host, greetings, Madam," Manager Zhong said, bowing with his hands clasped together.
"There's no need for such formality. Go about your business," Wufu waved her hand dismissively.
Manager Zhong dismissed the other workers and said to Wufu with a smile, "Host, the Winter Solstice private room has been prepared."
Wufu nodded and then introduced Manager Zhong to Madam Zhou.
Madam Zhou's smile was restrained, and she said, "As women, my daughter and I must be careful not to be too conspicuous, so we rely on Manager Zhong to take good care of the restaurant for us!"
"Madam, you overstate the matter. This is merely my duty," Manager Zhong replied with an expression of alarm.
