Above ground, Nikolai noticed that the SSS and other human organisations finally appeared from the distant conversations. He found that this was the only area affected. Brian met up with Ryan and his wife, while Alexei headed back with the Volkov forces to avoid issues.
I stood close to Leona, our arms linked tightly and bodies pressed together.
"Leona, we should head to the east, then contact someone to pick us up."
"Y-You're right." She looked up at me with a slightly sheepish expression and nodded. "Should we leave before they seal the area off?"
Because Leona and the maids finished things quickly, most humans who saw us were already fed an amnesiac. It's not like we could risk exposing ourselves too easily, though I wondered if a few might remember.
Still, the SSS also administered an injection with the same effect. 'Yeah, they wouldn't want the public to know about monsters, right?' But part of me hoped they did so we could live out in the open.
