Chapter 12 - Chapter 9 Arrest

Actually, regarding the Inner World, Lin Fei didn't have a concrete idea. In his past life, he was just an ordinary martial arts enthusiast, having attended a martial arts club for a while and participated in a free-fighting competition once.

In reality, in Lin Fei's mind, so-called Inner World experts were just standards much stronger than professional fighters. As for the extent to which they were stronger than professional experts, he was completely unaware.

Even now, he didn't have a clear understanding of his own strength, having practiced Basic Sword Technique. He only quietly estimated in his heart that he should be a bit stronger than his former self.

Strength, after all, had to be validated through combat. However, in this law-abiding society, trying to find one or two experts who perfectly matched his current level was undoubtedly like searching for a needle in a haystack. As for true Inner World experts...

"It's better to forget it, I'm still too weak now." Lin Fei shook his head slightly, dismissing the idea. "I must first quietly acquire relevant information and intelligence from the sidelines."

Being completely ignorant of Inner World experts, he realized that if those guys there were the type who wouldn't bat an eye to kill, rushing in recklessly, if one was not careful, the result...

"Perhaps, starting with some local gangs, small thugs, to test the waters wouldn't be a bad idea."

Lin Fei silently considered the matters that needed attention. He increasingly felt that this idea was quite suitable. His current strength was hard to estimate clearly, and he could just exploit ordinary people to approximate it. In his past life, he was also extorted for protection fees and bullied several times by local thugs, which was one reason why he later decided to learn sanda fighting.

Now he was confident that facing a dozen or so small thugs directly wouldn't be a big problem.

The most crucial content of Basic Sword Technique was acupoints! Whether it was Sword of Death or Remnant Sword, it required extremely precise vision and hand strength. To achieve the recorded effect of the acupoints to match the described outcome without the slightest deviation was considered the perfect mastery of Basic Sword Technique.

These secret acupoints were not at all those of traditional Chinese medicine but instead had strange names and extremely sinister effects.

For instance, in the chest and abdomen area where there were originally more than a dozen acupoints according to traditional Chinese medicine like Jueque Point, Basic Sword Technique had over twenty, and their effects were all of a kind that could cause severe injury. This was also why Lin Fei was very confident.

With this acupoint chart, coupled with his past life fighting experience, he could completely subdue opponents in an instant. Of course, as long as he applied slightly lighter force, it probably wouldn't reach such a severe extent.

Thinking about it, he decided to take action. He glanced outside, where it had already become completely dark.

Streetlights along the community road emitted a warm yellow glow, with small flying insects circling around the lamp covers. A few elderly people, who had finished their dinner, strolled slowly along the roadside with their hands behind their backs, and occasionally one or two young people dribbled basketballs toward the school playground.

Although this was only a building allocated for an elementary school, the school had also built a small basketball court right next to the teacher's cafeteria.

Lin Fei had played there in his past life too, but he gradually lost interest. He wasn't very into basketball. However, if he wanted to find trouble with those small thugs for a short time, the best places to do so were undoubtedly a few.

Pool rooms, gaming rooms, internet cafes, and basketball courts.

Not the basketball court in the community, but the public basketball court in a nearby leisure square.

A dense wire fence encircled the area. Inside was a small concrete basketball court, with two hoops that allowed for two separate games.

Next to it were some roadside gardens and stone bench pathways. Beyond that was the main road.

In the evening, both ends of the basketball court were brightly illuminated by high-wattage bulbs. The cool evening breeze still carried a trace of warmth, blowing on the body without feeling cold. It was the perfect time for playing ball.

There were already two teams inside the court playing basketball.

Some stone benches along the basketball court had now gathered some teenage boys, who were watching on the sidelines out of boredom.

Lin Fei was one of them. Someone he knew was even coincidentally playing on the court at this moment.

Cheng Bin, who grew up in the same courtyard as Lin Fei. Although Lin Fei didn't have much of a relationship with him, and his family lived in another apartment building, they had seen each other frequently over the past ten plus years. They were considered friends.

Cheng Bin was strong and tall, fond of sports, and played both basketball and soccer. He had a lively personality and good looks. He was fairly popular in the courtyard. But Lin Fei didn't go over to greet him.

Cheng Bin's personality was excessively outgoing. If he saw someone he knew watching from the sidelines, he would surely insist on dragging Lin Fei into the game to play along.

Lin Fei stood there for a while.

"If nothing happens, I'll switch to the gaming hall." Generally, this basketball court often witnessed friction and brawling incidents. Therefore, those who dared to come here were all youths who considered themselves to be doing well in life. Naturally, the incidents of friction were more frequent. In his past life, whenever Lin Fei passed by here, he often saw fights and brawls happening.

Just when Lin Fei was getting a bit impatient, finally something happened in the basketball court.

The two teams playing didn't know for what reason, started yelling at each other and began pushing and shoving. The young people outside suddenly became excited, and presumably, they were waiting for just such a moment.

Lin Fei saw clearly that it seemed like a girl from Cheng Bin's team was accidentally hit on the head by a ball from the other team.

Usually, the number of girls on a basketball court was pitifully low, and they were always the protected ones in the team. Now that a ball suddenly hit her, the tall and robust players immediately flared up.

Seeing this, Lin Fei was delighted, and he quickly squeezed through the crowd and ran directly toward the court.

"Cheng Bin!" He shouted loudly as he ran over.

Cheng Bin in the crowd heard the voice, turned around, and saw Lin Fei. His face immediately lit up with joy. In such situations, the more people there were, the greater the strength. He also recognized it was Lin Fei,

"Lin Fei, what are you doing here?" But his voice was immediately drowned out by the cursing from the crowd on both sides.

"Fuck your mother! Calling people, are you? Hui, go get Mouse and the others over here!"

"If you're brave, don't be a wimp! Come on, punk! You were shouting so loud just now!"

"I'll remember you guys, come on! I dare you to make a move!"

Among them, the most aggressive was a blond who ripped off his T-shirt, fiercely slapping his chest, his face twisted with rage.

"Hit here! Come on! Hit! Hit!"

Naturally, Cheng Bin's side couldn't hold back their anger. No one knew who struck first. The blond was slammed hard in the chest, staggering backward.

"How dare you hit me!!??"

"They're making a move!! They've started fighting!!" the opposing side immediately cried out in surprise.

"They actually dared to hit Brother Yang!!"

Lin Fei's side immediately sensed something was wrong. It seemed this blond called Brother Yang was quite notorious. The girl who was hit by the ball had been anxiously standing on the side, and now, seeing the explosive atmosphere, wanted to step forward and speak, but was held back by a teammate.

Soon, within minutes, both sides were fully engaged in a brawl. Lin Fei was about to join when suddenly the rapid sound of police sirens approached. Two police cars with flashing lights quickly stopped at the edge of the court, doors slamming as six or seven uniformed officers got out, hurriedly running towards them.

The police cars had arrived, clearly for them, which made Cheng Bin's side dumbfounded. They were just ordinary high school students without any background, and faced with this situation, they were immediately frightened, losing their nerve, their hearts filled with dread as the officers approached.

"What's going on, what's going on!!" A slightly chubby officer arrived in front of the two groups, shouting loudly.

"Gathering to cause trouble! Fighting! You want to spend a few days in the station, don't you!!" The fat officer's face was gloomy, waving his hand with a commanding tone.

"Take them away!!"

Immediately, the officers behind him surged forward.

....

...

A minute later....

Lin Fei, Cheng Bin, and the others watched the departing police cars in shock, a group standing on the court completely unsure of how to react.

"That blond is finished." A buddy next to Cheng Bin suddenly chimed in.

Earlier, they thought the officers were coming to arrest them, but it turned out the police didn't even bother with them, directly pinning down the most aggressive blond and taking him away.

"Let's disperse."

"Let's all go home."

"Cheng Bin, I'm leaving first."

"Oh, I'll talk to my buddy for a bit. You guys go ahead."

As the team began to leave, Cheng Bin patted Lin Fei on the shoulder, feeling slightly touched.

"You're the best!"

Lin Fei smiled, about to speak when suddenly she noticed a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye.

Across the street, under the streetlight, at the bus stop sign, her sister Lin You sat on the stone bench looking uneasy.

As Lin Fei turned her gaze towards her, a woman dressed in office wear walked past Lin You. Just a moment ago, Lin You was empty-handed, but suddenly a small black notebook appeared in her hand.

Lin Fei was slightly taken aback. She looked at the woman from afar and noticed nothing unusual. When she looked back at Lin You, the black notebook had already been quietly tucked away into her bag.

"Could it be that Lin You has already started interacting with the Inner World people?" Lin Fei's mind raced as she patted Cheng Bin's shoulder in front of her. "Let's go back."

Cheng Bin looked fearful.

"Never coming here to play ball again."

"Safety first."

"Yeah, safety first."
