Chapter 184 - 183: Inside The Pensieve

The liquid-formed screen rippled slightly, slowly blooming into a layer of colorful imagery.

At first glance, it looked like an ordinary 2D screen, about to play a live-action film of real events.

But this was magic—if it were only projecting visuals and sound onto water, that would be far too unimpressive.

The moment the image appeared on the screen, everyone present suddenly felt their heads spin.

It was as if a giant hand had grabbed hold of their souls, then swiftly yanked them out of their bodies and stuffed them directly into the screen.

The sensation was like having their entire being manhandled from head to toe.

When the sorcerers regained consciousness, they were all a little flustered and annoyed.

But in the very next moment, upon seeing the scene before their eyes, all those emotions vanished without a trace.

Hundreds of sorcerers found themselves floating in midair with nothing to anchor them.

Just a few meters below was the Sorcerer Supreme Lyon, engaged in conversation with the traitor Kaecilius.

Everyone immediately realized—they had entered one of Lyon's memories.

Hulk, not understanding what was going on, let out a roar and leapt toward Kaecilius with Banner screaming in tow.

But the two of them passed straight through Kaecilius's body.

They were only observers here, unable to affect anything.

Tony looked around curiously.

Come to think of it, this was his first time on a celestial body outside of Earth.

Even the two other-dimensional travels he'd taken with Lyon had all been within Earth's sphere of activity.

"Lyon's stash of cool stuff just keeps growing… Has he been traveling through other worlds on his own?" Tony stroked his chin thoughtfully.

"Shhh!" Pietro suddenly raised a finger to his lips. "Quiet, I can't hear what they're saying!"

Although watching memories in this hologram-like format massively enhanced immersion, having hundreds of people gathered around the two figures in the memory chatting nonstop completely ruined the experience.

The sorcerers realized the problem too and quickly fell silent.

On the wind-blown, sand-covered wasteland, only the conversation between Lyon and Kaecilius could be heard.

The sense of immersion among the viewers was strong.

When they saw Kaecilius listing the supposed benefits of the Dark Dimension like a walking brochure—just short of claiming the air there was sweeter—

the sorcerers felt as if they'd swallowed a fly, utterly disgusted.

In their hearts, they thought: The Sorcerer Supreme is definitely going to give this traitor a serious beating next!

However, in the very next second, they saw Lyon actually agreeing to join Kaecilius.

Every sorcerer's jaw dropped, as if they'd seen a ghost.

If this memory hadn't been shown to them by Lyon himself after his return,

they probably would have erupted on the spot—cursing loudly and shouting something like "We were prepared to die fighting! Why would our king surrender?!"

Fortunately, the "story" quickly took a turn.

The plot unfolded with the twists and turns of a suspenseful film.

First, Kaecilius and his followers summoned Dormammu, only to be mercilessly devoured by the Dark Dimension.

Then Lyon claimed he wanted to negotiate, provoking Dormammu's rage.

Everyone watched, wide-eyed and breathless, unable to help but feel a rising tension for Lyon's sake.

Even though the name of the Dark Dimension's ruler was already legendary and fearsome—But this was their first time seeing the true form of Dormammu.

His head alone was as massive as a small mountain.

The aura he released so casually gave them a suffocating sensation, like staring death in the face.

To see the Sorcerer Supreme confronting such a terrifying entity—It was like Goku going against a whole DC lineup.

The sorcerers had no idea what would happen next.

They were completely immersed in Lyon's perspective.

Facing Dormammu's wrath, their legs felt weak and wobbly as if not under their own control.

Tony clenched his trembling fists, his fingertips digging deep into his palms.

Fear crept through his mind beyond his control.

But above all, he felt anxious.

Until now, Dormammu's might had only been something he heard about—described by others, a vague concept at best.

Now, seeing it with his own eyes, he couldn't help but tremble deep in his heart.

What kind of enemy had they really left Lyon to face alone?

A powerful thirst for strength, mixed with an overwhelming sense of crisis, exploded in Tony's heart.

He knew Lyon had made it back safely in the end. But the scene before him still planted a seed deep in his mind.

Not far from Tony, even the strongest among them—Wanda—didn't fare much better.

In front of Dormammu, she felt as though she didn't even dare to cast a spell.

And yet, facing Dormammu, raging with fury and flames faintly rising from his enormous head—Lyon still stood tall, brows furrowed with calm defiance.

He even used the Seraphim Shield and the Staff of Hogoth to block every deadly attack.

So composed. So unshakable.

Wanda was once again made painfully aware of the immense gap between her and Lyon.

Wong, on the other hand, was much more direct.

He slapped his thigh hard. "Now that's the Sorcerer Supreme! That's what a Sorcerer Supreme should be!!"

In that moment, Lyon's silhouette was etched deeply into the minds of every single sorcerer present.

However, the group's excitement didn't last long.

After a few more rounds of combat, Lyon ended up provoking Dormammu again—to the point that the demon god, in a fit of rage, stepped out of the Dark Dimension!

And just like that, everyone was stunned once more.

Yes, their Sorcerer Supreme was strong, no doubt about it—but his mouth really couldn't shut up!

Would it have killed him to just let Dormammu admit defeat and retreat quietly? No, he had to push him until he brought his true form across dimensions.

If they could, they seriously wanted to travel back in time and clamp Lyon's mouth shut.

At that moment in the memory, Dormammu and Lyon began talking about the Time Stone and Thanos.

Wanda frowned slightly and asked Tony, "What's the Time Stone? Lyon used the Space Stone when awakening Pietro's and my powers—so is it something like that? And who's Thanos? What's 'the Decimation'?"

Wanda had only just stepped into the world of the supernatural. Hearing these terms made her feel like they were terrifying and important, even though she didn't fully understand them.

She assumed Tony and the others must have already experienced multiple multiversal-level battles in the past.

But in truth, Tony was thinking the exact same questions she was.

Tony's mind was full of one thought—What else has Lyon done behind my back?

He shook his head and looked toward Wong and Mordo.

But the two senior sorcerers also shook their heads.

"Thanos, I know," Wong said. "He's a warlord in the universe. And the Time Stone—I know that too. It's one of the Infinity Stones, it's…"

Wong explained in detail about Thanos and the stones.

Then, with a look of pure, childlike cluelessness, he added, "But when the Time Stone got destroyed… and what this 'Decimation' is… I have no idea…"

Mordo frowned too. "That doesn't sound right. The Time Stone is in the Eye of Agamotto. Did Lyon destroy that sacred relic right after taking office?"

Wanda, after listening, realized something: So even these 'veterans' don't know anything either.

"Keep it down! What are you all arguing about? Just keep watching and we'll find out!" Pietro, eyes glued to Lyon, muttered in annoyance, thinking these people were way too noisy.

Tony and the others nodded, redirecting their attention back to the standoff between Lyon and Dormammu.

But in the very next second, their hearts nearly dropped into their stomachs.

They watched Dormammu send Lyon flying with a punch, then bombard him with disasters of earth, wind, water, and fire—elemental calamities that ravaged the battlefield, sweeping across the terrain like a tide of destruction.

Hundreds of viewers floated silently in midair, staring at a scene that looked like the end of the world.

Their minds gradually went blank.

They simply couldn't imagine how Lyon could possibly win in a situation like this.

Among the sorcerers, one voice trembled as it spoke: "D-Don't tell me… the Sorcerer Supreme we saw just now—is actually a ghost?"

A brief silence followed.

Then someone responded: "…Then the octopus we ate—was that just a hallucination before death?"

The sorcerers couldn't help but fall into a spiral of self-doubt, with some even seriously beginning to check whether they were still alive.
