Celeste came to when the sky had turned dark. The cold evening breeze brushed through the light curtains of their bedroom and it kissed her warm cheeks. She blinked, comfortable on the large bed she was laying sideways on.
Celeste glanced over her shoulder and saw Tiel sleeping behind her. His arm draped over her, keeping her close. His warmth on her back.
Celeste stayed quiet, slowly recalling the memories of what transpired that day.
The shock of being told Avond knew all along, the reality that her father was some way or another involved, the gruesome sight of all those women forced to work in that warehouse, the downpour of bullets on those who dared try to escape, the horrible sight of watching Sara being trempled, the look on Jade's face when she was hit on the head, the sound of her lifeless body on the cold floor, the sound of Wouters cry, Tiels effort to stop Isser, his scent and body being the only thing she held on to as she cried.
