Chapter 467 - Moonshade Goddess and Reincarnation

In the Fourth Star Ring, the microcosm of the Holy Temple shifted through space without a sound and emerged in the cosmic starry sky.

Judging by the density of the starry sky in the Fourth Star Ring, the moment the Holy Temple's microcosm appeared, it should have crushed the surrounding starfield.

Yet the nearby starry sky remained completely intact—because a bright moon was suspended in that part of space.

That moon kept expanding, casting down moonlight that stabilized the starry sky.

During the past war between eternal beings, nearly a thousand eternal lives fell, but only fewer than a hundred succeeded in reincarnating and joining the Nightfall Society. Due to the parasitic nature of the Dusk Bloom, the specific members had long remained a top secret.

In recent years, several newly ascended eternal beings from the Nightfall Society managed to break free from the influence of the Dusk Bloom.

As a result, the identities of the Nightfall Society's members were no longer secret and had been made public.

The moon floating in the starry sky originated from a reincarnated avatar of the Lunar Holy God.

The Lunar Holy God ranked at the bottom of the third echelon of eternal beings—an immense gap compared to the Eternal Star God.

In fact, in her past life, the Lunar Holy God had been slain by the Eternal Star God.

Yet this reincarnated version of her, merely a great true god-level avatar, after merging with the Immortal Will and the Primordial Power of the Universe, now exhibited a power more terrifying than the Old Fisherman. The lunar source seed she possessed had transformed into this very moon hanging in the starry sky.

Rosen had once seen this moon before—within the spiritual world formed by the Lament of Nature.

In the ancient primordial universe, which followed a model of a square earth and round heavens, there had only ever been one sun and one moon. The original moon was not a satellite of the sun, but rather a celestial body equal in power to it. Therefore, the moon of the primordial era must have possessed terrifying power.

But in today's cosmic starry universe, all moons had become mere satellites.

Only a very small number of transcendent beings could create artificial moons capable of shedding lunar starlight in the worlds they forged.

This made it clear why the Lunar Star God was ranked so low among eternal beings.

However, looking at the moon suspended in the sky now, Rosen deeply suspected that one of the sealed Immortal Wills within the Nightfall Society could very well be the lingering will of the fallen Moon Goddess who once wielded the primordial lunar power—perfectly compatible with this Lunar Holy God.

So much so that she could instinctively attempt, with her own power alone, to erode endless starlight and turn it into nourishment to recreate a lunar star.

Rosen chose to lead the Holy Temple to hunt the Lunar Star God because of this man-made moon.

Using his fate source seed to strengthen his grasp over fate laws, he could sense that this thing held immense benefits for him.

Thus, he intended to use the Holy Temple to thoroughly test this Lunar Holy God, now transformed into an evil lifeform. This way, hunting her down later would become much easier. His only concern now was whether the Chaos Holy God and the others would try to snatch it from him.

The microcosm of the Holy Temple sank into the Sea of Origin Darkness and opened a spatial vortex in the endless void.

Having now fused nearly two hundred eternal worlds and a substantial fragment of the primordial world, this microcosm—although still incomplete due to the lack of a universe source seed—already possessed a terrifying world power far surpassing that of any single eternal world.

All the eternal beings gathered at the edge of the spatial vortex, expanding their domains and simultaneously unleashing their Eternal Divine Law domains to begin merging them.

Close to two hundred rule-based domains combined into one composite domain, which then merged with the world power of the Holy Temple's microcosm. Very quickly, the resulting domain had grown so powerful it could suppress an eternal being with sheer domain force alone.

What was once only a supplementary function of rule-based domains had, through sheer accumulation, transformed from quantity into quality.

And since Rosen wielded the Heaven and Earth Source Seed, it was only natural that he became the controller of the composite domain.

The rule domain spread from the spatial vortex outward, instantly extending from the endless void into the cosmic starry sky, enveloping the Lunar Holy God and the moon she created within. Then, using the microcosm's world power, it suppressed her.

The domain was so powerful that it completely severed any connection between internal and external laws.

Thus, the Lunar Holy God was unable to use the Immortal Will to command the laws outside the domain, and within it, all the laws were under the control of the eternal beings. With her absolute dominance over laws stripped away, she was immediately crushed into a pulp by the overwhelming world power.

Across the universe, aside from true primordial beings, no one could withstand the combined assault of nearly two hundred eternal beings.

But being unable to resist didn't mean death.

The Lunar Holy God relied on the Immortal Will to resurrect and reconstitute herself at astonishing speed. Her Immortal Will even began to display a third trait that Rosen himself hadn't noticed before—an incredibly powerful environmental adaptation ability.

The oppressive force of world power was rapidly being adapted to and neutralized by her.

But domain fusion was only the foundation. Once the domain was established, full control of it shifted to Rosen, who held both the Heaven and Earth Source Seed and the primordial power of space. The remaining eternal beings had already begun charging up their strongest Eternal Divine Laws.

Some of these Eternal Divine Laws could synergize with one another, amplifying their damage.

Others, though incapable of direct stacking, offered powerful auxiliary effects.

Still others could not be used in tandem, but even when cast alone, would never go to waste.

Every eternal being had precisely timed their release, synchronizing perfectly with one another. The moment the first Eternal Divine Law struck the Lunar Holy God under the amplification of the domain, the second followed instantly as the destructive force of the first began to fade.

Then came the third and fourth, followed by continuous successive strikes of eternal divine arts hitting the Lunar Holy God. Rosen chose to use consecutive strikes instead of combined attacks mainly for two reasons.

First, the damage only needed to be enough to shatter the Lunar Holy God's body. No matter how strong the damage from combined eternal divine arts was, if it couldn't eliminate the Undying Will, it was meaningless. Therefore, consecutive strikes could maximally destroy the Lunar Holy God's body and rob it of any ability to resist.

Nearly two hundred eternal beings participated, each with at least one eternal divine art.

By the time the last eternal being unleashed their eternal divine art, those who cast theirs earlier had already regrouped to release their most destructive eternal divine arts again, continuing the combo strikes into an infinite loop.

The survival ability of this sinful lifeform, the Lunar Holy God, was indeed terrifying, but facing an infinite barrage of combo strikes, it had no room to fight back.

The eternal sacred body was continuously ravaged, twisted into unrecognizable shapes, completely losing any humanoid form.

If it had been a Chaos Holy God caught in such an infinite combo, it probably would have only had a dead end, forcibly slain.

Of course, Chaos Holy Gods were not as irrational as the Lunar Holy God—they would never give such an opportunity to be struck repeatedly and would never foolishly face so many eternal beings without fleeing. The wise choice for intelligent life would be to break them down one by one.

However, despite this terrifying combo barrage that could surround and kill a Chaos Holy God, the effect on the Lunar Holy God was not very good.

The infinite combos never lasted more than a minute per wave, but the Lunar Holy God had already been surrounded and beaten for an entire hour.

And this was only the beginning. Soon one day passed, then a year, then ten years…

If it weren't for relying on the Small Universe of the Holy Sanctuary, and each eternal being having fused their eternal world into the small universe, allowing them to recover their losses through it, very few eternal beings could sustain such infinite combos of eternal divine arts.

Yet, after these continuous ten years of horrific damage, the Lunar Holy God's condition only improved.

Not to mention being beaten to death—its Undying Will constantly adapted, greatly reducing the damage caused by the infinite combos of eternal divine arts. If this continued, and the Lunar Holy God wasn't killed within a hundred years, it might even become immune to the damage caused by the many Holy Gods of the Sanctuary.

Rosen originally thought that no matter how strong the Undying Will was, maintaining its power had to consume something.

Dripping water wears through stone, and persistence wears down resistance—surely the Undying Will of the Lunar Holy God would weaken.

But in the end, it was actually they who weakened. No wonder after ten years, neither Chaos Holy God nor Dimensional Holy God appeared, not even to stealthily approach and take a look. Instead, the Ancient Gods came more than once, then repeatedly left.

The Ancient Gods came multiple times to observe, clearly lacking sufficient understanding of the terror of the Undying Will.

They hoped to pick up leftovers but left disappointed again and again.

Chaos Holy God and Dimensional Holy God knew how terrifying the Undying Will was, so from the start, they knew they couldn't harm the Lunar Holy God and naturally ignored it. This made Rosen realize how laughable it was to rely on the Holy Sanctuary to kill sinful lifeforms.

The simplest way to deal with the Lunar Holy God was to send it into the Origin Sea of the Universe.

But Rosen was sure Chaos Holy God and Dimensional Holy God were lying in wait there.

If he truly went, the spoils might not fall into his hands.

Therefore, Rosen prepared to use a second method.

Since the Natural Rejoicing Movement could purify the negative spirits within the Undying Will, he would directly use it to purify the Lunar Holy God, while simultaneously using the Myriad Transformations Divine Art to steal the Undying Will of the Lunar Holy God.

Rosen controlled the combined domain, so he could secretly do some things inside the domain without other eternal beings knowing.

Under the domain's cover, the primordial avatar silently approached the Lunar Holy God.

While closing in, he cast the Myriad Transformations Divine Art on the primordial avatar, successfully turning it into the Lunar Holy God.

Rosen and his people had besieged the Lunar Holy God for ten years, not wasting time on a hopeless cause, but using continuous destruction and direct life-or-death contact to understand the Lunar Holy God thoroughly. Only with sufficient understanding could the Myriad Transformations Divine Art perfectly transform.

The primordial avatar transformed into the Lunar Holy God was indistinguishable from the real Lunar Holy God.

Suddenly appearing beside the Lunar Holy God gave the impression that the Lunar Holy God had split into two.

After ten years of siege, when the change suddenly appeared, everyone thought the Lunar Holy God had finally reached its limit and was resorting to other means. After ten years, more and more eternal beings had already suggested giving up the siege, so this change reinvigorated everyone.

However, the extra Lunar Holy God still could not resist the eternal divine arts' continuous combo attacks, even working together with the original.

It didn't last a second before its eternal sacred body was beaten to a pulp.

The primordial avatar had no Undying Will and lacked the locked-origin trait of undying and indestructible.

But the primordial avatar transformed Lunar Holy God and the Lunar Holy God turned sinful lifeform shared the same root and source. When the two piles of flesh and blood merged under the pressure of eternal divine arts, and with the primordial avatar's active cooperation, the Lunar Holy God began to fuse into one.

At that moment, the Undying Will of the Lunar Holy God simultaneously merged into the primordial body.

This fusion method was inspired by the old fisherman.

The old fisherman had long been truly dead; what was alive now was his eternal avatar's counterfeit. However, extreme counterfeit could be mistaken for genuine. The old fisherman transformed into a sinful lifeform with his origin locked, completely severing ties with Rosen.

His use of Myriad Transformations Divine Art could no longer turn him back into an eternal avatar.

If he could still transform back, the link wouldn't have been broken, and the Undying Will's corruption could continue to poison Rosen through the chain.

Now the primordial avatar actively offered itself, and after fusion, the Lunar Holy God became even stronger.

If this continued, Rosen would lose the primordial avatar, which would be completely assimilated into the sinful lifeform as part of the Lunar Holy God.

Therefore, before the complete assimilation could take place, the undying will had to be purified so that the Primordial Avatar could turn the tide and take control.

Nearly two hundred Eternal Beings surrounded Rosen, watching his every move. Using the domain to send the Primordial Avatar over could still fool them, but if he let the band perform the Melody of Natural Joy, even a fool could tell something was wrong. Worse yet, it might provoke an ambush by the Chaos God or the Dimensional God.

Once they discovered there was another method to deal with the evil lifeform, they would undoubtedly stop at nothing to seize it for themselves.

So Rosen had to find a way to let the Melody of Natural Joy proceed silently and unnoticed.

He planned to use the connection between himself and the Primordial Avatar as a medium to transmit the Melody of Natural Joy.

This way, even if the music resonated, the many Eternal Beings would at most think that the Lunar Holy God was exhibiting another new anomaly.

Sound required vibration and a medium to propagate, but the area around the Lunar Holy God was being relentlessly bombarded by Eternal Divine Laws. The vibrations were chaotic, and the medium itself left no room for sound to transmit. Theoretically, all one would hear were countless layers of disordered noise.

Whether it was screams or roars, no sound from the Lunar Holy God could escape.

And yet, suddenly, a beautiful and gentle melody reverberated through the void.

It did not propagate through physical means, but rather directly through spirit and consciousness.

All the Eternal Beings who heard the melody felt their hostility melt away and were overcome by drowsiness.

They all assumed it was a counterattack from the Lunar Holy God. At once, the Eternal Beings employed various methods to keep themselves awake.

And what they heard was merely the aftershock of the Melody of Natural Joy, yet it still induced that level of reaction.

As for the Lunar Holy God, its undying will was directly pulled into the spiritual realm. While the Melody of Natural Joy continuously purified its negative psyche, its Eternal Will was gradually being assimilated by the Primordial Avatar's Eternal Will.

Both had been polluted by Eternal Will before. The old fisherman had completely lost himself and his sanity.

In contrast, Rosen had easily suppressed and sealed the trace of Eternal Will that had contaminated him by tracing the source.

The difference lay in strength, in the amount of Eternal Will, the volume of undying will, and the extent of negative spirit.

Before it was corrupted, the Lunar Holy God had at most been a clone at the level of a Great True God.

Such a clone could not have possessed much Eternal Will, hence it had no resistance to the corruption of the undying will.

But after undergoing transformation through the Ten Thousand Forms Divine Law, the Eternal Wills of both sides were of the same origin. The Eternal Will Rosen had infused into the Primordial Avatar was not inferior to that of the Heavenly Earth Holy God at its peak. Swallowing the Eternal Will of a Great True God clone of the same origin was a trivial matter.

Then, the Eternal Will of the Primordial Avatar was instantly corrupted by the undying will.

However, as the Melody of Natural Joy continued to purify the negative spirit, although the power of the undying will itself remained undiminished, it no longer had the negative spirit necessary to pollute Rosen's Eternal Will. This allowed him to begin using his own will and thoughts to gradually take control of the undying will.

If all went well, Rosen might even refine the Lunar Holy God into his own avatar.

But then, unexpectedly, a change occurred. The moon, sealed within a corner of the combined domain, began to shift.

From the depths of that moon emerged another undying will—one that had not been polluted.

The moment it appeared, it began to compete with Rosen for control over the undying will within the Lunar Holy God's body.

Rosen was completely outmatched. He had relied on fusing his Eternal Will with the undying will, while the new force was using undying will to fuse with undying will. Naturally, it was far more efficient. Powerless to resist, he could only do his utmost to seize whatever fragments he could.

After several months, Rosen managed to fuse one-tenth of the undying will within the Lunar Holy God's body through the Primordial Avatar.

The remaining nine-tenths were taken away, and this new undying will even began to erode the Primordial Avatar.

Rosen immediately canceled the transformation of the Primordial Avatar and forcibly retrieved it through the Wheel of Time and Space.

He had watched a delicious meal slip from his grasp. After the negative spirit had been purified, the Lunar Holy God no longer exhibited any signs of madness or irrationality. All that remained was an innocent, naive, childlike blankness, as though all its memories had been wiped away and it was reborn anew.

In this state, the Lunar Holy God would have been easy to deceive. But that innocence and naivety only lasted for a short time.

Through the still-active connection with the Melody of Natural Joy, Rosen sensed that the Lunar Holy God was gradually regaining clarity and recovering its memories.

Finally, when it reached a critical threshold, after nearly eleven years of being surrounded and attacked, the Lunar Holy God struck back for the first time.

Countless mirrors of moonlight appeared in the void, blocking the endless chain of Eternal Divine Law strikes.

Each moonlight mirror was not particularly powerful on its own, barely reaching the defensive strength of an Eternal Divine Law. But they all shared the traits of undying will—undying and indestructible. No matter how they were destroyed, they could regenerate infinitely.

Under the protection of the growing number of moonlight mirrors, the Lunar Holy God's body slowly reformed from a mass of flesh back into a humanoid form.

Then, stepping into a mirror formed of moonlight, the Lunar Holy God vanished from within the sealed combined domain, leaving no trace behind.

Rosen fell into deep thought. He suspected that in its previous life, the Lunar Holy God had been a Primordial Lifeform that wielded the power of Primordial Lunar Force.

In theory, all Eternal Beings were the essence left behind after the death of Primordial Lifeforms.

So under the right conditions, a dead Primordial Lifeform could reincarnate and be reborn.

The Chaos God and the Dimensional God had likely once been true Eternal Beings themselves, but the awakening of their past life memories had suppressed their present identities, causing them to resurrect as their former Primordial selves.

Under the influence of the Melody of Natural Joy, the conditions for the Lunar Holy God to awaken its past life memories were inadvertently fulfilled.

And so, right before his eyes, the Lunar Holy God was reborn as a reincarnated Primordial Lifeform.

Now wielding undying will, it felt even more powerful than the Chaos God.
