Chapter 14 - School Days

Chapter 14: School Days

~~~~~
As I make my way to the 1-A classroom, I notice the usual bustling and excitement of students in the halls. The sound of laughter and chatter fills the air, and I can't help but feel a sense of happiness. Everyone had already moved on from the incident at lunch.
Eventually, I reach the classroom door and slide it open, stepping inside. The room falls silent as my classmates turn to look at me, their expressions a mix of curiosity and anticipation.
"Sorry I'm late everyone. I got caught up in something after the press incident at lunch today."
Kirishima, being the most enthusiastic, spoke up first.
"No worries, man! We were just getting started."
A few other students nodded in agreement, and a few of them even chuckled at Kirishima's enthusiasm. It was typical for him to be so excited about everything.
Bakugo, on the other hand, just rolled his eyes and muttered something under his breath. He never was one for formalities.
I looked at Hikari and waved at her.
Hikari noticed my wave and waved back with a smile. She was one of the few people in the class who seemed genuinely happy to see me, despite my tardiness. She was one of my friends for a reason.
As I walked to my desk, a few of the students whispered amongst themselves, speculating about what had kept me busy after lunch. I tried to ignore their chatter, but I couldn't help but feel a bit self-conscious under their scrutiny.
I sat down at my desk, trying to act nonchalant. But I couldn't shake the feeling that my classmates were watching me closely, waiting for me to explain myself.
"I came across the Principal and we got caught up in a conversation." I explained, not revealing what truly happened.
Bakugo snorted, clearly not buying my explanation.
"Yeah, right. And I'm the next Symbol of Peace."
"You? The Next Symbol of Peace? You should become a comedian, that was absolutely hilarious." I joked while laughing.
Bakugo's eyes flashed with anger, his temper getting the better of him. He slammed his fist on his desk, glaring at me.
"I'll show you hilarious! You better watch your mouth, smartass!"
"I really did meet the Principal though. He's an interesting guy."
Kirishima, ever the mediator, tried to defuse the situation.
"Calm down, Bakugo. It's not a big deal."
Bakugo grumbled under his breath but didn't argue further. The rest of the class continued to chatter, the tension slowly easing away.
'Good puppy, let your owner calm you down.'
After a few minutes of idle chatter, Aizawa entered the room, his expression as stoic as ever. The class immediately fell silent, their attention turning to their teacher.
I noticed a hint of something in his eyes. There may have been something he talked about when I left Principal Nezu's office.
Aizawa looked around the room, his gaze pausing briefly on me before continuing on to the rest of the class. He sighed and rubbed his eyes, looking more tired than usual.
"Alright, listen up. We're going to be doing some training exercises today."
The class perked up at the mention of training exercises. Everyone knew that Aizawa's training sessions were tough, but they were also some of the most rewarding.
Midoriya raised his hand, looking eager to ask a question.
Aizawa noticed Midoriya's raised hand and sighed again.
"What is it, Midoriya?"
Midoriya lowered his hand, looking slightly sheepish.
"Um, sir... what kind of training are we doing today?"
Aizawa's expression darkened slightly.
"We're going to be working on our Quirk usage. It's important that you all learn how to control your abilities and use them effectively in battle."
The class nodded in understanding, some of them looking nervous while others seemed excited for the challenge.
Aizawa continued, his voice firm.
"I expect you all to give it your all today. No holding back."
Aizawa's gaze swept across the room, making eye contact with each student before stopping on me again. There was a hint of intensity in his eyes, as if he was silently telling me to step up my game.
I met his gaze, feeling a sense of determination rise within me. I knew that I had to prove myself, not just to Aizawa, but to my classmates as well. I couldn't afford to slip up, not as the Class Representative.
As Aizawa began explaining the details of the training exercise, I couldn't help but notice Hikari glancing at me from across the room. She gave me a small smile, her expression one of encouragement and support.
I returned the expression of encouragement and support back to her.
Hikari's smile widened slightly, and I could see the pride in her eyes. It was clear that she believed in me, and that thought gave me an extra boost of confidence.
I spent the rest of the class preparing myself mentally and physically for the training exercise. I knew that I would be facing some tough challenges, but I was determined to rise to the occasion. The energy in the room was electric, everyone eager to prove themselves and show their worth as future heroes.
The time for the training exercise finally arrived, and we all made our way to the training grounds. The atmosphere was tense with anticipation as we gathered in front of Aizawa.
Aizawa stood before us, his expression stern and serious.
"Alright, everyone. This training exercise is going to be a little different from what you're used to. You'll be facing off against me in a series of one-on-one battles."
The class gasped in surprise, their eyes widening in shock at the announcement. It was no secret that Aizawa was a formidable opponent, and taking him on alone would be no easy feat.
Aizawa smirked slightly at the reaction, clearly enjoying the fear and trepidation he was instilling in his students.
"Don't worry, I won't go easy on you just because you're still in training. This is a test of your skills and abilities, so give it everything you've got."
Aizawa looked around the group, his gaze lingering on me for a moment before he continued.
(A/N: Yeah, I'm doing this again, smd. It's a funny, not, bit at this point, it's also to show off how the MC stands out amongst Class 1-A and Kai Hikari.)
"Now, let's get started. Who's first?"
A few students shifted uncomfortably, clearly intimidated by the prospect of being the first to face off against Aizawa. However, a hand suddenly shot up from the back of the group.
Aizawa raised an eyebrow as he looked in the direction of the hand.
"Ah, I see we have a volunteer."
The class parted to reveal who had raised their hand, and I could see it was... Hikari.
I couldn't help but feel a mixture of surprise and concern as Hikari stepped forward, a determined expression on her face. She was definitely taking a big risk, volunteering to face off against Aizawa right away.
I was curious as to how she would use her Snow Cloud quirk to her advantage in this fight. I also wondered if Aizawa would remember Shirakumo from just her quirk.
Aizawa looked Hikari up and down, a small smirk on his face.
"Very well, Hikari. Let's see what you're made of."
Hikari stepped up to the makeshift arena, taking a deep breath to steady herself. Aizawa followed, taking his place opposite her. The rest of the class watched with bated breath, waiting to see how this battle would unfold.
Aizawa waited patiently, his hands tucked into his pockets. He looked completely relaxed, as if he wasn't facing off against one of his most talented students.
Hikari's eyes narrowed as she studied Aizawa, clearly trying to find a weakness in his stance or expression. She clenched her fists, the snow clouds above her growing slightly denser.
Aizawa remained unmoving, seemingly unbothered by the gathering snow clouds. He seemed to be waiting for Hikari to make the first move, confident in his own abilities to counter whatever she threw at him.
Hikari took a deep breath and raised her hands, the snow clouds above her coalescing into a large ball of snow. With a fierce shout, she launched it towards Aizawa.
Aizawa dodged the snowball with ease, sidestepping it as if it was nothing. The ball hit the ground with a loud thud, exploding into a cloud of icy shards.
"Is that the best you've got?"
Hikari gritted her teeth in frustration, clearly annoyed that her first attack had been so easily evaded. She quickly raised her hands again, creating another snowball, this time larger than the last.
Hikari launched the second snowball at Aizawa, putting even more power into it than the first. This time, she also created several smaller snowballs to accompany it, sending them flying in quick succession.
Aizawa continued to dodge the incoming projectiles, moving with an almost inhuman speed and grace. He sidestepped, rolled, and jumped out of the way of each one, never letting a single snowball touch him.
Hikari's frustration was growing by the second. She was running out of snowballs, and Aizawa was still unscathed. She could feel her confidence slipping away, replaced by a growing sense of desperation.
Aizawa could sense Hikari's desperation, and a smirk appeared on his face. He stopped dodging and stood still, looking almost bored as he waited for her next move.
Hikari knew she was running out of options. She had used up all of her snowballs, and Aizawa was standing there, completely unharmed and waiting for her to make a move.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down and think of a new strategy. But her mind was racing, and she couldn't focus on anything but the fact that she was losing.
I was watching from the sidelines, and I couldn't help but feel frustrated with Hikari's current performance. Her quirk was indeed incredibly versatile, and it was clear that she wasn't utilizing it to its full potential.
As I continued to watch, Aizawa seemed to be getting bored with the fight. He let out a sigh and spoke up, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Come on, is that really all you've got? I expected better from a U.A. student."
Hikari's face turned red with embarrassment and anger at Aizawa's words. She clenched her fists tightly, her nails digging into her palms.
"Shut up!" she snapped back, her voice shaking with rage.
Aizawa chuckled at her outburst, clearly enjoying getting under her skin. He crossed his arms and leaned against a nearby wall, still smiling.
"You're really letting your emotions get the best of you, aren't you?"
Hikari's face twisted in anger as Aizawa continued to mock her. She could feel her powers growing more unstable, the snow clouds above her becoming more erratic and chaotic.
Aizawa noticed the changes in the snow clouds and raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued by the sudden shift in energy.
"Looks like someone's getting a bit unstable." he said, his tone dripping with condescension.
Hikari took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. She knew that losing control of her emotions would only make things worse, but Aizawa's taunts were making it extremely difficult to stay focused.
I'll have to thank Aizawa for this, I can use this as my chance to help out my classmates. Since I'm the class rep. I'll have to help them out with training and I can tell each and every single one of them how to improve.
Aizawa continued to watch her, a sly grin on his face. He could see the struggle on her face and was clearly enjoying every moment of it.
"You know, you'd probably do better if you weren't so emotional all the time." he said, his voice dripping with smugness.
Hikari's fists were shaking with anger now, her entire body tense with frustration. She was fighting the urge to just attack Aizawa without thinking, but she knew that would only lead to her defeat.
Aizawa chuckled again, clearly sensing her internal struggle. He pushed off the wall and walked towards her, his eyes never leaving hers.
"Come on, don't tell me you're going to give up now. We've barely even started."
Aizawa stood directly in front of Hikari now, looking down at her with a mixture of amusement and condescension. He leaned in slightly, his voice dropping to a whisper.
"Or maybe you're just not cut out to be a hero after all."
Hikari's eyes flashed with anger as Aizawa's words hit their mark. She clenched her teeth, her body trembling with rage. She could feel the snow clouds above her growing more turbulent, and she knew she was losing control.
Aizawa chuckled again, sensing that he had finally pushed Hikari over the edge. He took a step back, a smirk on his face as he waited for her to explode.
The air around Hikari seemed to grow colder as her anger reached its peak. Snowflakes began to swirl around her, dancing in the wind as she struggled to contain her emotions. Her eyes glowed with a fierce intensity, and her breath came out in ragged gasps.
Aizawa raised an eyebrow, genuinely impressed by the amount of power that Hikari was radiating. He had expected her to lash out in anger, but he was taken aback by the sheer magnitude of her power. The wind around her picked up, whipping her hair around her face and creating a maelstrom of snow and ice.
Aizawa braced himself, prepared for the storm that was about to hit. He had seen many strong quirks in his time as a teacher, but there was something different about Hikari's power. It was wild and untamed, like a force of nature itself.
Hikari let out a scream of rage as the storm finally erupted. Snow and ice swirled around her, forming into a massive cyclone that tore up the surrounding area. The force of the storm was incredible, knocking over trees and causing debris to fly through the air.
"Aizawa-sensei, I think it's about time you use your quirk."
Aizawa nodded, his eyes locked on the cyclone that was tearing through the landscape. He activated his quirk, erasing Hikari's powers and causing the storm to dissipate almost instantly.
Hikari collapsed to her knees as the storm disappeared, her body trembling from exhaustion and exertion. She looked up at Aizawa with a mixture of anger and defeat on her face, panting heavily.
Hikari was too exhausted to resist as I picked her up and carried her away from the platform. She leaned her head against my chest, still trying to catch her breath.
Hikari closed her eyes as I carried her, the adrenaline from the fight slowly wearing off. She could feel the heat of my body against hers, and it was oddly comforting in the midst of her exhaustion.
Hikari remained silent as I carried her, her breathing gradually slowing down. She was still angry at Aizawa, but there was something about being in my arms that made her feel safe and protected.
I sat her down in a chair created by Momo Yaoyorozu.
Hikari slumped into the chair, still feeling weak from the fight. She leaned back and closed her eyes again, taking deep breaths to steady herself.
"Who wants to fight Aizawa-sensei next?" I asked my classmates as Aizawa stood on the platform still.
Several students raised their hands, eager to take on the challenge. Among them were Kirishima, Bakugo, and Kaminari.
Aizawa looked over at the volunteers, his eyes narrowing as he assessed their potential.
"Alright, Kirishima, you're up."
Was watching Season 7 of MHA and skipped to Toga's death, almost cried. Also, younger AFO was lowkey kinda badass, loved how they did him. I plan on actually fully watching it later.
I'm going to follow a timeline I found that isn't canon at all. Cause I don't believe that the USJ happened that quickly. Ciao.
