So instead, I sent William—the captain of the Blackmore family knights—along with Allan and several others, to bring news of our return to Lilia, Mark, and Milly, who were eagerly waiting for us at home.
I gave them strict instructions: do not tell them about the Patriarch's coma. I had still been holding on to hope that the Saintess might be able to wake him.
