Chapter 11 - Part - 11

Seeing no use in physical strength, the enraged witch remembered her wand. Pulling it out in an instant, she immediately directed the Avada Kedavra curse at her "enemy's" back. Unlike her deceased husband, she was much more focused, and her Death Curse turned out to be surprisingly powerful. The concentration of magical energy was like a laser beam – thin, brief, but oh, so penetrating!

The green beam of incredible power struck Voldemort in the back and passed through his body, killing him quickly and painlessly, continuing its path directly toward a frightened child, still clutching the rope sides of his crib, hitting him squarely in the forehead.

Next, Tom saw everything as if in a fog, from which a tall, bearded figure in a blue robe emerged, towards whom Mrs. Potter rushed before her body gently sank to the floor and lay still. Some diamond-patterned netting obstructed the view, but Tom recognized the green glow that appeared before the woman's body fell. Avada… of all things… Then a second spell flew toward the dark-clad figure sprawled on the floor, strangely capturing Tom's attention, as Hellfire quickly consumed all evidence, accompanied by a nauseating stench.

Touching the rope netting that suddenly appeared before his eyes, Tom, in horror, recognized it as the crib rails of Harry Potter's bed. A wild terror washed over him, and he gave in to his desperation in the only way available to him at that moment – he screamed at the top of his lungs.

"Obliviate!" – the bearded man's voice ended the child's hysterics, simultaneously casting him into the depths of unconsciousness.

Thus, memory after memory, in an accelerated rhythm, all of Harry-Tom's childhood among Muggles on Privet Drive, barely relatives, flashed through his sleeping mind. Each detail lasted only a few milliseconds in real time, but a small time-turner effect inside created a local flow of greatly stretched time.

He divided his memories into three groups – important, less important, and unnecessary – categorizing them based on their usefulness in orienting himself in the Wizarding World society. For instance, there was no need to remember cousin Dudley's taunts. So – close those unpleasant memories under a strong dome labeled "The Meaninglessness of Life on Privet Drive," and let them stay undisturbed. The label itself was informative enough.

Among the less important memories, Harry gathered recollections of his time in the primary school library. There, he prepared for the next day, wrote homework assignments – generally trying to meet his teachers' high standards. He didn't lock these away, but gathered them in a group labeled "Studies." He could access them whenever he wanted and recall the material he had read if needed.

While trying to determine what he absolutely needed to use, Harry suddenly realized that memories from Tom's life were almost absent in his consciousness. Only a set of unclear knowledge, some fragments of events involving his adult self, like that fateful Halloween, remained when he was caught and found himself in the body of young Potter, killed by his own mother.

Perhaps the reunification of soul fragments happens according to this scenario – the life of the very first fragment, the one called Harry Potter, dominates all others and automatically erases the extra, sometimes duplicate memories of Tom Riddle himself, to prevent glitches. Very little information.

The boy decided that if something changed, he would act accordingly and would never turn his back even on the smallest enemy.
