Chapter 3 - Ch 3 "Chains and Shadows"

--In the shaddow you will hear my voice--KIRRA47

  ENJOY

Pain throbbed behind my eyes—sharp, relentless, like a drumbeat against bone. Each pulse reminded me: I was no longer free.

My mouth was dry, coated in blood and dirt. My throat burned raw, like I'd been screaming into the void for hours.I tried to move, but the moment I tugged—

Rope. Tight. Burning.

A bolt of panic shot through my chest, cold and venomous.Where the hell am I?

I forced my eyes open. Nothing. No shapes. No light. No shadows. Just a black so thick, it felt alive.I blinked again, but the darkness held me captive, just like the ropes binding my wrists.

My breath quickened, shaky and thin. Each inhale filled my lungs with dust, fear, and the haunting taste of dread.

The last thing I remembered was the forest.Running.Hands—his hands—grabbing me.And those eyes. Green like sin. Then nothing but the sweet sting of oblivion.

Now I was here.Somewhere. Nowhere.Trapped.

Well… fuck me sideways.Happy Halloween, Lilith.

I jerked against the restraints, harder this time. The ropes didn't budge. They cut into my skin, mocking me, laughing with every failed attempt at escape.

A chill crept down my spine—not just from the cold—but from the weight of everything I couldn't see.And then—I heard it.

Screaming.

Distant, guttural, raw.The kind of sound only true agony could birth.

My body stiffened. My heart slammed against my ribs like it was trying to escape.I swallowed, but it felt like shards of glass dragging down my throat.

Where the hell am I? Where in fucking Hades' name am I?

The screams echoed through walls I couldn't see, behind a door I hadn't noticed until now.Whoever was out there… they were being torn apart. And they wouldn't last long.

How long have I been here?Minutes? Hours? Days?Time had no meaning in this void.

All I knew was this: He brought me here.He knocked me out.He dragged me to this godforsaken place.

But why?

I wasn't a spy. I told him that.

I was just a girl… a very unlucky girl.

Please, God, I thought, panicked. I swear I'll never lie again or steal Esteffano's favorite chocolate cookies—

Okay, that was a lie, but still.

Then—silence. The screams cut off like a blade through flesh.

The door creaked open.

Boots. The heavy rhythm of them on stone.A sliver of light bled into the room, pale and sickly.

And then I saw him.

Just a silhouette—tall, dark, and terrifying.Framed in gold light like a demon disguised as a god.

The door slammed shut.Darkness swallowed me whole again.

Shit. Shit. Double shit.

My lip trembled as I bit down hard, tasting blood.I wasn't going to beg.I wasn't going to break.

Then he spoke.

"Three hours."

His voice—low, smooth, but with a dangerous edge.Velvet lined with razors.

I felt him without seeing him. His presence swallowed the space like smoke in a small room.

A faint lantern glow shimmered from his hand, painting him in shades of nightmare.

"You can scream if you want," he said, almost amused. "No one will hear you."

He tilted his head. "Not like anyone would care."

He paused. Each word after hung like poison in the air."You know why?"

I said nothing.

He stepped closer, and his green eyes pierced the dark like twin fires.

"Because you're in my domain now, little princess."

My pulse spiked. I forced myself to stare back.

"Now tell me," he sneered, "why would the Celestials send their own princess to play spy?"

I blinked. "I'm not—what?"

"I know who you are," he hissed. "I know what you all are. So don't bother lying with that pretty face."

I swallowed, my throat sandpaper. "I'm not trying to lie. You've got it wrong. I swear—I'm not what you think."

"Mm." He began to pace, slow and deliberate. "So you just happened to be exactly where I was sent?"

"It was a coincidence," I whispered. "I got lost. That's all."

He crouched in front of me, his breath brushing my face.I froze.

Those eyes devoured me, stripping away every wall I had left.

He was going to kill me.And gods help me, some traitorous part of me felt something stir.

"Tell me the truth," he murmured, voice soft as silk, deadly as poison.

"I am," I whispered. "I was going to a party. I was lost. And then you… happened."

His eyes darkened.

"Liar."

"I'M NOT!"

Suddenly—his hand rose, hovering just above my head.

The air thickened.My thoughts unraveled.No.

Something invaded me.A presence, dragging memories out into the open. The forest. His grip.My mind, frantic, twisted—

Gods, no.

I saw it all again—every horrible, humiliating second.

Then he pulled away.And smirked.

"Interesting," he said, voice smooth and cruel.

My stomach dropped.

He stopped behind me. I felt his breath graze my neck, heavy and hot. I wanted to disappear.

"See, im no spy" I whispered, trembling. "I swear."

Suddenly—his hand gripped my chin, yanking my face up.I gasped.

"You're not lying," he said, eyes narrowing. "But you're hiding something."

"I'm not!" I snapped, panic rising. "So please—just let me go!"

He didn't even blink.

"No."

"You psychotic bastard—"

SLAP.

His hand struck my cheek, fast and merciless.

Pain exploded across my face.

Tears welled up, but I refused to let them fall.

He stared at me coldly. "I don't usually hit women," he said, voice as dead as his eyes, "Consider yourself lucky."

Lucky? You just fucking slapped me, asshole!

"Fuck you," I hissed, voice shaking.

His lips curled into a wicked grin."Maybe later."

Then he turned and left.

The door slammed shut. And once again, the darkness wrapped its arms around me.

I was alone.

Alone with the echoes of his voice. And the terrifying truth that something in me didn't just fear him…

…it remembered how it felt to be seen by him.

And that was the scariest part of all.
