Chapter 220 - Chapter 219

For these candidates who haven't even unlocked or mastered Nen abilities yet, despite having decent physical attributes, they're still far from being a match.

Speaking of which, if they truly wanted to defeat Chairman Netero with their current strength, it's not entirely impossible. Unless—

Kastro glanced at Morin beside him. Using his master's tools might be the only way. Kastro briefly explained the situation on the ground to Morin.

They chatted a bit about the recent activities of the Hunter Association and the Examination Committee.

Then, he hurriedly went over to check on Netero's situation. He was quite skeptical about whether these candidates could even stand up after being trained by Netero.

After all, even when the Zodiac Twelve played with Netero, they had suffered under his harsh methods. Hopefully, this time, they won't be too harshly toyed with under Chairman Netero's hands.

After all, they're just a group of test candidates. Chairman Netero should have some restraint... right?

After Kastro left, Morin turned to look in another direction. He didn't speak, just calmly watched. A few seconds later, a figure emerged from the direction Morin was watching.

"Hehehe..." Tonpa rubbed the back of his head, smiling with a simple and honest look. Morin's eyes showed a hint of interest as he watched him.

"Actually, I was watching from the side because..." Morin remained silent, prompting Tonpa to speak first.

It seemed he had made a significant decision: "Twelve years ago, I shouldn't have used laxative drinks to sabotage you! I'm sorry, it was my fault! I'm guilty!!" Tonpa bowed and apologized, his tone unusually sincere, deeply regretful for the mistakes he made in the past.

"The events of twelve years ago are long past; I don't care about them at all anymore." Morin waved his hand dismissively. "Besides apologizing, do you have anything else you want to say?"

"Uh..." Tonpa hesitated again. But soon, he gritted his teeth: "You previously mentioned that after the Hunter Test, regardless of the outcome..." Tonpa cautiously asked, "I should go with you, right?"

"That's right," Morin nodded.

Tonpa: "Can I ask why?" His face showed a smile more pained than crying: "I'm old and ugly, short, only know how to bully newcomers for fun, failed the Hunter Test thirty-five times in a row, despicable, a villain, trash."

Tonpa never felt so useless at this moment, listing his numerous unsightly deeds. He described himself as a complete scoundrel, a person who would do anything.

Someone like me won't have a good outcome!

"Finished?" Only when Tonpa was parched from speaking did Morin smile and say, "Do you think I don't know what kind of person you are?"

"I want you to come with me because I've discovered the shining points in you." "Even if you're a complete piece of trash, as long as you're useful, you're valuable trash."

Morin patted his shoulder encouragingly: "As the saying goes, everyone has their use. After the Hunter Test, come with me."

"Of course, if you can pass this Hunter Test, that would be even better..."

Tonpa: "..."

What kind of saying is that?! Why don't I know it...

Tonpa left with a face of despair and anxiety. "The so-called Tonpa the Great shouldn't be limited to just a small Hunter Test, only thinking about having fun with newcomers?" "Your vision is too small, too small."

Morin smiled as he watched Tonpa's departing figure. The reason he sought out Tonpa was naturally because he saw the rare strengths in him.

Yes, Tonpa does have certain strengths. As he himself stated, he has many, many flaws. But it's undeniable that being able to participate in the Hunter Test thirty-five times and survive is something not just any candidate can achieve.

Especially since he started taking the Hunter Test at the age of ten. That's even two years earlier than when Gon Freecss and Ging started.

Moreover, Tonpa participated in the Hunter Test thirty-five times, and he managed to secure first place thirty times, which is quite impressive.

---

Tonpa's first place refers to being the first to arrive at the official test venue. Achieving this feat can't simply be attributed to "experience."

"To survive thirty-five times, starting at the young age of ten, in the deadly environment of the Hunter Association," Morin mused, "he must have a remarkable talent for avoiding disasters, right?"

Morin headed back to his room. "If such talent were to be converted into Nen abilities—" "It would be quite something to look forward to, wouldn't it? Hehehe... Am I becoming a bit of a farmer now too?!"

In the corner, Hisoka, who had just finished building a pyramid of playing cards, shivered as if electrified. Then—crash!

He reached out and knocked over the pyramid he had meticulously constructed. "Hmm...?" Hisoka's lips curled into a grin. "Hehehe, hehehe..." His eerie smile made the nearby candidates sweat and quickly distance themselves.

Hisoka relished the moment of destruction. "Hisoka planting apples, only to destroy them afterward?" A peculiar tune seemed to echo throughout the airship.

Meanwhile, in the room where the Hunter examiners gathered, they were discussing this year's candidates. "The five great Nen users of the world? Who would have thought he was such a formidable figure! The Trap Tower has an additional rule this time..."

"How many do you think will qualify this year?" Satotz asked quietly, sipping his tea with his legs crossed.

"Are you talking about those who will pass?" Buhara replied while eating, "If so, I think their quality is quite average. Meaning, it's entirely possible none of them will pass."

Satotz summarized, "That depends on the subsequent test content."

Buhara glanced at Menchi, who was sitting beside them, deep in thought. "If the examiner is someone like Menchi, perhaps none might pass."

He kept this thought to himself, not daring to voice it in front of Menchi.

At that moment—

"During the Hunter Test, did any of you notice anyone particularly outstanding?" Menchi raised her head, joining the conversation.

Did she even need to ask? The first person that came to mind was candidate 406. Both Buhara and Satotz simultaneously thought of Morin.

"Candidate 406, right? You both thought of him too?" Menchi noticed their silence and realized they were thinking of the same person.

"Candidate 406 is indeed noteworthy, but do you know? He has an extraordinary identity," Menchi said, her smile turning somewhat unusual.

"Yes, he's the master of Kastro, the Zodiac Twelve's 'Monkey,'" Buhara chimed in, "I was shocked when I learned about it."

"Who would have thought he was such a powerful figure?"

"If he can train a strong one-star Hunter, then his own strength must be exceptional."

"Indeed," Satotz nodded slightly. "With such strength, obtaining a Hunter license is almost a certainty."

"Moreover, he seems quite familiar with Chairman Netero. Their exchanges appear evenly matched on the surface."

"He's undoubtedly the strongest among this year's candidates, perhaps even beyond the scope of a 'candidate.'"

"Exactly," Menchi's lips twitched, "and I asked Beans to find out his real name—it's Morin!"

"Morin?!" Satotz and Buhara exchanged glances, furrowing their brows in thought. "Why does that name sound familiar?"

"Of course, it's familiar!" Menchi gritted her teeth. "I just realized it too!"

"Isn't that the name from a few years ago, when the Hunter Association established the Zodiac Twelve and simultaneously released the list of the 'world's five great Nen users'?"

Menchi's words struck Buhara and Satotz like a bolt of lightning.

"It's him?!"

"The so-called Tool Master?!"

Both exclaimed in unison. Mentioning the "Tool Master," Buhara and Satotz immediately recalled the peculiar items Morin had produced during the test.

"We never considered that angle, did we?"
