Warmth.
That was the first thing Xion registered. Not the oppressive heat of fire, nor the icy numbness of mana loss he'd felt when he fainted, but the soft, indulgent kind he wanted to cocoon himself in.
The second thing though was the still beating heart in his chest. It was a tenacious little thing, really. Even more stubborn than Noxian.
Though his insides felt like they were twisting in agony, that his body could barely go on, it still continued to thud against his chest.
Strange, wasn't it?
The system's warning about the recoil hadn't done it justice at all, and Xion could only say so after personally experiencing it.
The moment he had detonated the grenade, he'd been sure he was going to die.
He had felt his body quake from the inside out, limbs sealed and twisted in agony. He could vividly remember the sharp crack that had echoed through his ribs.
He was certain several had broken.
And yet, as he dragged in a shaky breath now, the expected pain didn't come.
