Chapter 15 - The Royal Arcanum Academy

Artus collected his personal belongings, which consisted of the magic book, his pen and personal notebook, the potion bottle, and a few other things. He bid his family farewell and left with Seers.

"Artus, I will give an invitation to the magic division tails, with your talent and magical power, you are already a mage, so I want you to lay down a bit".

"Don't draw any attention towards yourself".

"With your outstanding talent and progress in magic, you may be seen as a potential threat, so some people will try to eliminate you".

"In the Academy, you will encounter people of high backgrounds; if you were not able to make them your friends, at least don't make them enemies".

"After you get accepted to the magic division, I will help with the resources and support you".

Seers kept giving Artus pieces of advice and instructions on how to deal with people in the Academy, they kept walking until they reached a few kilometers away from the village.

"Thank you, Lady Seers"

"I'll keep that in mind".

"Ok, enough walking around. We should not waste any more time. Let's hurry to the Academy".

"Artus, please hold my hand".

Artus held Seer's hand; he noticed that the air had begun circulating around them, its speed increasing rapidly. He felt his body growing lighter and lighter.

Slowly, his body felt lighter, and then they began to rise slowly in the air, until they reached several meters. From this height, he was able to see almost the entire forest; he could also feel the wind blowing on his face.

"Artus, hold tight, bear with it a little".

After Seers said that they started moving through the air across the forest, their speed began to accelerate. The force of the wind was blowing harshly against his body, and he felt that he would not be able to hold on anymore.

He raised his head while protecting his eyes with his other hand. In the distance, he could see the Royal Arcanum Academy getting closer and closer.

It was built on the high peak of a mountain; this was a strategic location in terms of both defense and offense, it would have the higher ground advantage in combat with a better range of vision, and on the other hand, the enemies would have a hard time if they tried to take over it.

The Academy was grand, surrounded by high walls and stone towers; these stone towers all had crystal spheres at their tops, inscribed with ancient magical symbols, with magic circles. Spreading around them, all the towers were connected by magic threads to a small flying building located in the center above the academy.

The academy was surrounded by a huge, transparent magic barrier, through which Artus was able to see the academy's various facilities; he could see halls, training grounds, gardens, dorms, an arena, and more.

At the base of the mountain on which the academy was built, there was a city. Artus and Seers landed on the ground, then continued their journey to the city on foot.

Artus and Seers walked through the city. Artus was curiously looking around the various shops; he could see equipment shops, blacksmiths, potions shops, herbs shops, and others.

"Lady Seers, why are so many shops selling combat supplies and accessories?"

"This city is called the Academy City; it was built by the merchants who frequently visited this area".

"Most people who pass here are warriors or mages who came to visit the academy or do various jobs, be it hunting or other tasks".

"So, it is natural that most merchants and shops here are aimed at targeting this class of society, in addition to that, you naturally find restaurants and inns".

They entered a small restaurant; Seers ordered food, including a drink for her and juice for Artus.

"Artus, this is my treat for you, don't be shy".

"Thank you for your kindness, Lady Seers"

Artus was very hungry, and he ate the food quickly. He was surprised by its taste, after all, he had never had a meal with luxury in his life.

The meal consisted of a piece of roasted meat, cheese, honey and bread, in addition to a cup of juice.

Seers looked at him with a smile.

"Artus, as I said before after you enter the academy, I will support you, but we have to find an excuse to justify our relationship in front of other people".

"Mother and son would be out of the question".

"So, the best is aunt and nephew".

"But the problems will arise if my family finds out that this trick will not work on them".

"Then how about this lady Seers, at first we pretend to be an aunt and her long-lost nephew, if your family finds out, we switch to a lady and the son of her dead best friend".

"I'll call you aunt in front of other people without stating anything about being your relative, we will make them misunderstand the situation and make the assumptions themselves."

"When we got found out, we will say that we never said that we are relatives in the first place, and I, a small child who was the son of your dead best friend, called you aunt out of respect and due to your relationship with the deceased mother".

Seers was surprised at Artus's words; he came up with a solution on the spot. She was truly curious about what was in this boy's mind.

After they finished the meal, Seers paid the bill, and they went walking around the town again, looking for a place to spend the day.

They came across a small shop, Seers brought some supplies and papers.

They went to an inn and rented a room to spend the day in.

Seers was planning to teach Artus a few things about magic before the trials, which will be held tomorrow.

The night descended, and a new morning rose, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Artus's life, taking yet another step forward.
