Flustered but cautious, Rafayel slowly took the sandwich wrapper and held it out to Varek.
At that moment, with the kind of force that would come with a chomp! sound effect, Varek bit into the sandwich.
Whoa! My—my hand went in his mouth too!
Fortunately, Varek didn't actually bite Rafayel's hand, but his hand was now sticky with saliva.
Rafayel stared at his saliva-covered hand.
Ugh...
"Well... I guess I'll just have to give up."
He wiped his hand on his clothes and looked back at Varek.
However, Varek was still staring at the sandwich, drooling.
What!? He's going to eat more!?
Rafayel was surprised, but somehow a little happy, and he held out the entire box of sandwiches in front of Varek.
But Varek didn't try to take a bite at all.
Instead, he drooled profusely, sitting there like a dog waiting for a command.
Eventually, Varek stared intently at Rafayel.
Somehow, Rafayel understood what he was trying to say…
