Logan's POV
"Noah… is this…"
I swallow hard and force the words out. "Is this the implant?"
He snatches his hand back like I've burned him, his fingers curling protectively over the metal in his wrist. He doesn't meet my eyes when he says, quietly, "It is."
I feel something snap inside me and multiple emotions come flooding in. Emotions I can't place. Fear? Disgust? Anger, definitely anger.
Not at him. Never at him.
But it's there and Fenrir lets out a snarl that burns its way through my throat, his fury laced into every breath. 'That thing hurts our mate.'
My heart's pounding, my voice too rough as I rasp, "Who put this in you?"
The moment the question escapes my lips, it hits me all at once—like lightning lighting up everything I hadn't processed until now.
