Chapter 652 - Chapter 904 - Substantial Improvement in Strength

There are actually quite a lot of things that Blaziken needs to be trained on at this time.

Because of Aoki's investment of resources, Blaziken quickly learned the following skills: Earthquake, Flamethrower, U-turn, Low Kick, Rock Slide, and Swords Dance.

It should be noted that before coming to the Kalos region, during the period when Blaziken was still a Combusken, it learned these six moves at once through TMs.

Although learning six moves at once is a huge challenge for any Pokémon, it also shows how much the Trainer values Blaziken.

None of these moves have been systematically trained, so they cannot be used effectively in combat yet.

This is why, in the previous battle with Blaziken, Aoki did not allow it to use these newly learned moves.

In addition, the evolved Blaziken also has several moves learned naturally, including Blaze Kick, Flame Charge, and Sky Uppercut.

These are also very practical techniques.

But to use them effectively in battle, Blaziken must practice them extensively.

Today, upon arriving at this island, aside from restoring Blaziken's condition, Aoki also intends to begin training these moves.

In Aoki's plan, the first move to focus on is Swords Dance.

After using this move, the user's physical attack power increases sharply. Blaziken is a Pokémon proficient in both physical and special attacks, but as a Fire- and Fighting-type, its physical offense is naturally more dominant—though its special moves should not be neglected either.

Once Blaziken masters Swords Dance, its burst potential will rise significantly.

Among the three attacking moves, the one to prioritize today is Blaze Kick.

Whether as a Combusken or in its current form, Blaziken excels in leg-based attacks.

With its foundation in Double Kick and consistent training, Blaze Kick may be the fastest to master.

As for Flame Charge and Sky Uppercut, since they have certain drawbacks, Aoki plans to let Blaziken first solidify Swords Dance and Blaze Kick before gradually familiarizing itself with the practical applications of the other two.

Regarding Earthquake, Flamethrower, U-turn, Low Kick, and Rock Slide, Flamethrower and Low Kick are moves within Blaziken's natural movepool and may be easier to master. The remaining three are primarily meant to counter Pokémon with type advantages over Blaziken.

Blaziken's ability to glide short distances has also been proven—after all, despite being a chicken, it can achieve limited flight.

There is no doubt about that.

Aside from Blaziken, Aoki's other Pokémon have also learned new moves via TMs. These must be mastered through daily training and battles.

Today is a day dedicated to training.

Whether it's Blaziken, Pupitar, or Swampert—who is preparing to break through to the Quasi-Champion level—all of them must push themselves.

Swampert has been stuck at level 49 for some time, accumulating energy in its body to reach the Quasi-Champion tier.

In truth, reaching Quasi-Champion isn't particularly difficult for Swampert. However, Aoki doesn't want it to be the weakest upon breaking through, so he insists on prolonged energy accumulation.

In addition to the Pokémon present, the Pokémon stationed on the island will also demonstrate their training progress to Aoki today.

The system displayed the scene Porygon2 captured in front of Aoki through a screen, and Porygon2 also projected Aoki's image in front of the Pokémon. Sound transmission worked flawlessly, so aside from the inability to physically interact, it was as if Aoki were right there with them.

At this moment, the Pokémon on the island were showcasing their training results.

Due to a minor qualitative improvement in Honchkrow's potential, after breaking through to the Dark Cyan level, its strength also rose significantly, reaching level 56—not far from Champion-tier.

Slowking floated in midair with closed eyes, gathering energy while awaiting a worthy battle to celebrate its breakthrough.

Currently, Slowking remains at level 59. Aoki senses that Slowking is nearing its peak. Once it reaches that point, it will be time for the final breakthrough. During this period, Slowking may refrain from frequent battles.

Bringing Ralts along also reduces the time wasted on Slowking's training.

Aoki's first Pokémon to begin its full sprint toward the Champion level!

Next, Gengar, Drapion, and Magmar also reached level 56. Their growth wasn't as dramatic as Honchkrow's, increasing by only two levels, but these were stable improvements—achieved through daily training and natural energy absorption, requiring no additional consolidation.

The Pokémon with the most significant progress was Florges!

Its level reached 58, making it Aoki's second Pokémon to reach the peak of pseudo-Champion.

Florges had devoted considerable effort to the island's development.

The creation of grassy fields, the cultivation of flower beds, and assisting Pokémon like Bulbasaur and Chikorita in building their habitats were all done using Florges' own energy.

Nearly every day, its energy was depleted and then replenished, which surprisingly expanded its energy capacity.

After repeating this cycle multiple times daily, Florges rose by three levels, reaching 58.

However, the Pokémon weren't just training—beneath the island lay the Sea Temple, home to many powerful wild Pokémon.

After Slowking was teleported back by Aoki, the team was able to enter the Sea Temple for battles under Slowking's leadership.

They engaged in frequent skirmishes.

However, entering the Sea Temple was strictly for training, and no lasting harm was done. Even if an opponent was defeated, Florges would heal them immediately.

This was something Aoki had emphasized.

After all, it was unknown whether Manaphy currently resided in the Sea Temple.

If the wild Pokémon there suffered heavy casualties, it might provoke Manaphy's hostility.

As a result, the quality of training improved drastically.

The strength of both Aoki's team and the wild Pokémon steadily increased—exactly the outcome Aoki desired.

This was one of the perks of owning an island.

...

As the sun began to set, the Pokémon finally ceased their training.

In just one day, Blaziken had fully recovered from the side effects of the potential-enhancing serum.

At the same time, it had gained a basic grasp of Swords Dance and Blaze Kick.

Thanks to its prior experience with kicking techniques, Blaze Kick was already usable in real combat, though not yet perfected.

Swords Dance, however, was trickier—if interrupted mid-battle, the move could fail.

Still, if executed unexpectedly before the opponent could react, the chances of success were high.

Now that Blaziken had recovered, Aoki felt it was time to test its Mega Evolution.
