Chantelle's face turned red as she quickly walked away from the sofa. "I was just trying something…"
Daniel turned around slowly, looking down. "What kind of man would think that was a joke?"
He stood by the tall window, looking lost.
She felt bad for putting him in that situation. Maybe she had gone too far. Instead of tempting him physically, she had tried to provoke his emotions.
Daniel couldn't stop thinking about the moment she leaned in to kiss him. Just remembering it made his heart beat faster. He had nearly given himself away because of that.
"Should I cook you something?" she asked.
Chantelle tried to shift the conversation, hoping it would help make things less awkward.
Daniel took a moment to calm himself before he turned around and said, "Philip ordered takeout. It should be here soon."
He actually did want to eat her cooking, but Philip was super picky about his kitchen. He even warned Daniel that if they messed it up, he'd tell Chantelle everything.
