Chapter 104 - Chapter 104: Mutual Hostages

"Tailed Beast Bomb!"

High in the sky, Kamihane spread

Suddenly, a blazing light came from behind, and Kagami immediately turned around. It was a crimson Tailed Beast Bomb cutting through the sky!

Kinkaku!

In the blink of an eye, he was engulfed by a violent impact, the explosive force hurling him far away, straight into the mountain rocks.

Kinkaku charged out in his half-tailed beast form, but his target wasn't Kagami. He was well aware that an attack of this level couldn't harm Kagami, but buying just a moment's time was enough.

He quickly landed on the head of the Nibi, intending to help it break free from the genjutsu by injecting tailed beast chakra, but as his gaze shifted downward, he was shocked to find a Flying Thunder God Technique seal quietly imprinted on the Nibi's head.

A faint rustling of wind came from behind, and Kinkaku's eyes widened. Before he could even turn his head, a pale hand slapped against his chest.

A cold voice, like the wind over a bone cemetery, said, "Nothing can escape my eyes."

"Pfft!"

A searing pain shot through his chest as thorn-like wooden spikes pierced his heart, disregarding the chakra coat, disregarding his formidable physique, as if iron needles piercing through paper, effortlessly emerging from his back.

"Wood Release: Heavenly Stake Jutsu!"

With Kagami's cold shout, Kinkaku was slammed into the ground by tremendous kinetic force. Before he could even begin to heal, the wooden spikes inside his body voraciously absorbed and branched out using the Nine-Tails' chakra, piercing through his internal organs and breaking his ribs. Bloody wooden spikes burst out from his body one after another, creating an extremely gruesome scene.

Kagami swiftly changed hand seals, extending a hand from a distance before suddenly clenching it tight. "Wood Style: Wooden Human Technique!"

The ground instantly split apart, followed by the emergence of a massive wooden hand that tightly grasped the immobilized Kinkaku. Coughing up a mouthful of blood, Kinkaku could only feel the Nine-Tails' chakra within him rapidly draining away, the excruciating pain nearly driving him to unconsciousness.

"I know this won't kill you, but..."

Kagami spoke slowly, "You're more useful alive than dead."

With a rallying cry from him, the gates of the Kikyō Mountain stronghold swung open, and the Konoha forces surged out, charging into the forest to join Kagami's Wood Clone in eliminating the remaining enemy forces.

Three hours later, the Cloud ninja's stronghold was completely breached.

With their commander fallen and morale shattered, the remaining Cloud ninja were no longer a threat, and reclaiming the lost territories was just a matter of time.

Thus, the Konoha front at Kikyō Mountain achieved a decisive victory in this nearly year-long war!

At the same time, in the Village Hidden in the Leaves.

At this moment, intelligence from the northeastern front lines had not yet been received. After dispatching Hyūga Harufusa, the high-ranking officials of the Leaf Village were collectively horrified, unable to sleep well. Everyone was anxiously waiting for the news of victory.

They understood that this 'decapitation operation' was not just a simple matter of victory or defeat for the entire Leaf Village, but a matter of the village's future and destiny. Therefore, everyone's heart was filled with tension and worry.

Unfortunately, what they waited for was Ginkaku.

The appearance of Ginkaku was like a bolt of lightning tearing through the night sky, instantly igniting the already oppressive atmosphere.

"Die!"

Ginkaku swung his sharp claws, and immediately three elite ninjas were sent flying, their blood spilling. They crashed into the rest stop by the roadside, their fate unknown.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

Ginkaku grinned, his partially tailed beast form completely ignoring these attacks. He charged forward without any fancy moves, his claws piercing through hearts, and his long tail swinging to shatter the earth.

With just the most basic stats, he could easily crush the Leaf Village ninja in front of him.

At this moment, there were not many elite ninja left in the village, as most of the elite forces had already been dispatched to the battlefield. Therefore, Ginkaku didn't even need to fully tailed beast form, using only partial tailed beast form to easily reach the front of the Hokage Building.

His attack came too quickly, too suddenly, for Konoha to react in time.

The walls of the Hokage Building were torn apart by immense force, and amidst the flying dust, dozens of ANBU fell to the ground like dumplings hitting the pan.

"Boom!"

A body of a Leaf Village jōnin smashed through the conference room door, and with a violent aura, Ginkaku strutted in, trapping the Leaf 高层 in the conference room.

He casually scanned the room, and when a white-haired figure came into view, he laughed brazenly.

"Hahahahahaha!"

"I've heard you're a wreck, but I didn't expect it to be true, Tobirama?"

He didn't even need to lift a finger; these guys in front of him weren't even worth calling combatants. Just standing there, the overwhelming pressure he exuded was enough to make it seem like he could take everyone's life with a single thought.

At this moment, the dignity and glory of Konoha seemed utterly trampled upon, while those once supremely confident ninjas could only lower their heads in silence.

As the high-ranking officials exchanged uncertain glances, Tobirama pushed through the crowd and stepped forward.

"Your presence here means Harufusa and the others have already met with misfortune, doesn't it?" Tobirama spoke, his voice low and hoarse.

Ginkaku raised an eyebrow, showing a hint of surprise. "Oh? You're quite sharp. That's right, I'm the one who took out the Hyūga clan's Byakugan."

Upon hearing this, everyone was instantly stunned.

"What!"

"This can't be!"

"Harufusa was so strong, how could he die at the hands of this guy!"

"Pfft!" Ginkaku raised his hand and swung the Seven Star Sword horizontally, beheading the elder of the Shimura clan who had just spoken.

Tobirama sighed. When he received the urgent report from Mito, he had a vague sense of this outcome.

Now, saying more was pointless. He slightly stepped forward, a hint of caution flashing in his eyes, preparing to unleash his chakra to the death to teleport Ginkaku to another location.

Although, the consequence of doing so was likely to be his own demise, but at least... it could buy some time for the villagers to escape.

Ginkaku flicked the blood off his sword onto the wall and laughed wildly. "Today, victory belongs to our Cloud Village!"

He suddenly moved, and the Seven Star Sword shot upward, cleaving an old man beside Tobirama in half. The overwhelming aura shattered the glass.

Tobirama's eyelids twitched. That was the elder of the Yamanaka clan. After Ginkaku broke into the building, he had asked this elder to use the 'Mind Body Switch Technique' to contact Uchiha Kagami.

Ginkaku didn't relent, moving with his sword as he flashed to Tobirama's side, pressing the blade horizontally against his throat.

At that moment, a figure flashed past the window, and Uchiha Kagami appeared as if descending from the heavens, leaping through the window into the room and standing firm before everyone.

He stared at Ginkaku, his gaze showing no surprise—clearly, he had already learned of everything through the Yamanaka clan elder.

Instead, Ginkaku acted as if facing a great enemy, exerting force on his wrist, and the sharp blade immediately sliced through Tobirama's neck, leaving thin trails of blood.

"Ginkaku, release the Hokage." He looked at Ginkaku, his gaze calm.

"Hmph, you think I'll just let him go? The war is over, and as long as I go berserk here, whether you act or not, Konoha will be finished!" Ginkaku grinned, completely unmoved.

"If you take one more step forward, I'll start by cutting this old ghost's throat!" His smile was quite vicious, his muscles tense, as if he were about to slit Tobirama's throat at any moment.

Kagami gently shook his head, "Trust me, you won't."

As he spoke, he pulled something out from behind him and dropped it on the floor with a 'bang', rolling it in front of Ginkaku.

It was a pair of bloodied long horns, pitch-black in color, with fine golden fluff hanging from them. The jagged break at the base of the horns looked as though they had been forcibly torn off.
