Chapter 13 - Not Again

Hinto stood there, frozen in place, when he saw Kazuo hit the ground.

"No..."

Kazuo was lying on the floor, and when Hinto blinked, it was as if he saw his mother lying there—just as she had been after she was murdered. He heard her voice calling his name, reliving the moment all over again, just like he had that day.

"Not again..."

Every fiber in his body wanted to let loose, but then he heard these words in his mind:

"I've heard enough. It's best if you go home and let the adults handle this investigation."

The exact words Koibito had said to him.

At that moment, the guys on the motorcycle flew past Hinto, and the driver started to laugh maniacally...

"WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Immediately, Hinto snapped back to reality, because at that moment, he realized who the motorcycle driver was.

"I know that laugh!" he thought.

Hinto's face was so filled with rage that you couldn't even recognize him anymore.

"Are you going to let him go?"

Those words echoed through his mind.

For a moment, he went quiet.

.....

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKING WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" he yelled as he started to run the fastest he had ever run.

"HIRO, CALL AN AMBULANCE!" he shouted as he chased the motorcycle.

"...Right, but be careful!" Hiro yelled back.

Rika screamed, "HINTO, WAIT!"

But Hinto didn't listen to anything or anyone in that moment.

All he could hear was the sound of that motorcycle.

Nikko also came back to her senses and realized that Hinto had left.

"HINTO, WAIT!" she yelled.

She got up and started to run after him.

"Wait, Nikko!" Rika said as she began chasing after her.

"RIKA, STAY HERE!" Taka yelled.

But she completely ignored him.

"TAKA, FOCUS ON THE SITUATION AND TRY TO KEEP KAZUO AWAKE!" Hiro shouted.

"...Right!" Taka said.

"Kazuo, stay with us, buddy!" he added.

But Kazuo gave no response...

Meanwhile...

Hinto was running after them at an insanely fast pace.

The guy in the passenger seat looked back and said, "What the hell—is this guy human!?"

The guy in the driver's seat looked back as well and said, "WOW, SOMEONE IS PISSED! HAHA!"

All of a sudden, they saw a puppy in the distance.

"...."The guy in the passenger seat remained silent for a second, but then he said, "Run it over..."

The driver said, "Huh...?"

"I SAID RUN IT OVER!" he snapped with anger.

"...SURE! HAHA!" the driver responded.

....

THUD—CRUNCH!

"whiiiine… whiimper… hrrrrrr…"

They ran the motorcycle over the dog.

Hinto saw this, and it made him even more furious, which in turn made him run even faster.

A few moments later.

"Chibi, whereeee are youuuuu!?" the dog's owner yelled.

"OH, THERE YOU ARE!" she said as she saw him lying on the road.

....

"Chibi...?" she said, tears welling up in her eyes.

A few moments later

The two guys on the motorcycle had put some distance between themselves and the crime scene and decided to stop in an alley

"Haha! We lost him. There's no way he cou—"

Out of nowhere, Hinto jumped in front of the motorcycle.

Both guys were shocked and yelled, "WHAT THE FU—"

Before they could utter another word, Hinto launched a flying kick at the guy in front on the motorcycle.

But the guy ducked, and Hinto ended up kicking the man with the baseball bat instead.

"Ugh!" the guy yelled as he hit the ground.

The driver laughed. "HAHAHA! You can keep him!" he yelled as he drove off, screaming, "YAHOOOOOOOO!"

"HEY, YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME LIKE THIS! COME BACK!" the guy yelled.

"YOU MAY ESCAPE NOW!"

The guy on the motorcycle looked back and said, "Huh?"

"BUT I WILL FIND YOU!" Hinto shouted.

"Haha, yeah right," he said.

"YOU HEAR ME, EIKYUU!? YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS!" he yelled, rage written all over his face.

"Fuck... he realized it was me, haha," Eikyuu said.

"HOW EXCITING! This is even better than I thought!" Eikyuu said, laughing out loud.

"HAHAHAHAHA!"

"Come find me if you can, demon boy," he said to himself while he disappeared into the distance.

While Eikyuu escaped, the other guy was trying to get away.

But then Hinto heard, "That other guy is still here... teach him a lesson."

Unable to control his rage, Hinto turned around and started dashing toward the guy.

The guy with the baseball bat was already on the move—about 30 meters away from Hinto—and was still running.

He thought to himself, "Maybe I can outrun hi—"

He turned his head to the right as he felt a strong presence right next to him.

There was Hinto, running beside him, enraged.

"FU—" the guy tried to say, but Hinto punched him in the face before he could finish the word and sent him flying.

"AAAGH!" he screamed as he hit the ground and rolled over onto his stomach.

As he lay there, he saw Hinto walking up to him.

He tried to get up.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck, I have to get out of here..." but as soon as he positioned himself, Hinto appeared in front of him and kicked his face, slamming him back into the ground.

"Ughhh," he groaned, spitting out blood.

He looked up at Hinto and said, "Wait... what happened to your hair?"

Hinto ignored every word that came out of the guy's mouth, walked up to him, and grabbed him by the collar with both hands.

"Why did you do this...?" Hinto asked with tears in his eyes.

The guy was shocked by Hinto's emotional reaction.

The guy grabbed Hinto's hands and said, "Simple... I wanted revenge, White Demon..."

Shock crossed Hinto's face. "You know me...?"

As Hinto held him by the collar, the guy tried to headbutt him—but Hinto just stared him down, straight in the eyes.

But strangely, a wave of guilt suddenly manifested.

"Why do I feel like this?" Hinto wondered.

I can't get distracted now, Hinto thought and threw the man to the ground.

As the man hit the pavement and tried to get up, Hinto punched him back down.

"I gotta finish this," the guy thought, reaching for the knife in his pocket.

But before he could grab it, Hinto had already seized his hand and twisted it, causing the knife to fall out of his hand.

"AAAAH!" he screamed.

"Start talking. WHY DID YOU DO THIS?" Hinto demanded.

...

The guy remained silent.

"ANSWER ME!" Hinto yelled.

"He's not going to answer..."

"He needs to be punished..."

"He killed Kazuo..."

"He deserves to die..."

Those words echoed in Hinto's mind.

Hinto walked to the spot where the knife had fallen.

He grabbed the knife off the floor and walked toward the guy.

Nikko arrived and saw Hinto from afar.

"Finally, I caught up to him..." she said.

"But WAIT!" she said.

"What is he doing?" she wondered—then she realized he was holding a knife.

"OH NO!" she said

"Yes... exactly, he killed Kazuo."

"This can all be over if you kill him now..."

The voice echoed in his head.

"HINTO, STOP! DON'T DO IT!" she screamed, running toward them.

The guy on the floor couldn't get away, and he accepted his fate as Hinto held the knife close to his face.

"Do it!" the guy said.
