"Damn..."

"Hah! You stepped on shite!"

"Look at that, lads! Bullock stepped on shite!"

"Hahaha!"

"Hahahaha!"

Five days have finally passed after their confrontation with Claude Du Vall. Reuben stayed the same, the slight admiration towards Alaric's strength.

William Penn was calm before and after the confrontation. This was a testament to his old age as he has seen enough battles, scrimmages, and death through all the years.

Letitia Penn and her husband James remained normal. They had fear across their faces during the confrontation with Du Vall and gang, but now? They were back to themselves.

And Alaric?

Well...

*Haaaaaa~*

He was smoking a cigarette in the carriage he and Reuben were boarding at. It became a habit of his, especially when he used to be a heavy smoker back in his old world.

*Cough.Cough*

"Will you stop smoking inside here!?" Reuben semi-screamed while covering his nose. He had been the victim of the nonstop smoke inside the carriage.

"Hm? It smells nice though?" Alaric replied with his brows raised. "Just say that you want one, I'm not stingy... I'll give you some."

"No thanks..."

"..."

"..."

"...Fine," Alaric sighed and flicked the cigarette outside the window. "What a bummer..."

Reuben's brows twiched from the muttering Alaric. He could only sigh at Alaric's antics. "You know... ever since Mr. Penn gave you a pack of cigarette, it's like you can't live without it."

"It's 'cause I can't!" Alaric dramatically shot his eyes towards Reuben. "If I can't smoke, I think I'm gonna die!"

"..."

"Okay, fine... I'll give you some respect," Alaric gave up, making the black-haired sigh in relief.

"WE'RE NEARING LONDON!"

Both of their attention was brought somewhere as they looked outside, with their heads beyond the window.

"Woah..."

Reuben could only admire the view as the Capital City of England could be seen.

Bathed in the glory of sunlight, the city was massive. Twenty times massive than Bristol. With huge walls and gates, and plentiful house roofs overlapping the roofs.

"I agree with your "Woah..."," Alaric nodded his head as Reuben's eyes dulled.

"London, aye?"

---

A couple of minutes later, they finally arrived at the city gates.

'Speaking of gates,' Alaric thought as he observed the said gates and walls. 'These are bigger than the ones at Bristol... are they attacked most of the time? I don't get it...'

"Stop!"

Everyone halted, the coachmen controlled their reigns making the horse slow down to a stop.

"State your purpose, visitor!" The guards by the gate strictly questioned.

"..."

"..."

*Ehem*

"Hear ye! Sire William Penn has come to visit London!" The captain of the escorts announced loudly, making the guards widen their eyes and immediately made way for the entire caravan to pass.

They didn't see Penn yet, but his name was enough to make them nervous. They couldn't afford to offend a powerful and influencial person like William Penn.

The caravan continued it's path slowly as the guards could now see William Penn, making them nod in acknowledgement.

Penn greeted them back with a smile, making them sigh in relief.

"Dayum... Penn's influence is no joke." Reuben shook his head slightly.

"Dayum?" Alaric turned his head towards the black-haired. "I feel attack when you're using words that came from me..."

"..."

Hearing no reply, Alaric shook his head slightly and continued looking towards the window.

As the Alaric and Reuben's carriage passed by the guards, Alaric gave a half nod towards one guard. "Sup..."

"..."

Their carriage was already driving away as the guard stared at it confusingly.

"..."

"...Sup?"

---

"Alright, you guys move and go to my office..."

"No... just go directly to my office."

"Yes, don't allow anyone to know what's inside the carriages."

"Okay, Sire Penn... I'll see you then..."

"Yes..."

Everyone has now got off their wagons and carriages as Alaric comically stretched his muscles.

"Damn... I don't like riding bumpy carriages," Alaric complained, making Reuben sigh in defeat.

'I don't know anymore...'

They were in front of an expensive tavern named "Howard's Tavern". This was where William Penn decided to make Alaric and Reuben stay for the mean time. Although it was up to them when they decide to check in.

"William?"

Everyone, including Alaric and Reuben, turned their heads towards the one who spoke.

It was a man who had a clean shaven face, wearing basic noble outfit. He looked to be as old as William Penn.

Penn, who was busy instructing the men he hired, turned around and widened his eyes a little bit, before smiling heartily.

"John!" Penn exclaimed as he neared 'John', giving him a huge hug. "It's good to see you!"

The now named John hugged the old Quaker back, and then took observed Penn's body and face. "My... you aged-"

"Finely? Of course, it's me who we're talking about," Penn jested as he grinned, making John chuckle.

"I was about to say, haggardly, but let's go with that," John went along their jest, making Penn laugh.

"Ah! John, meet my friends" Penn motioned John towards Alaric and Reuben, making John widen his eyes at the very tall figure of the blonde.

"Welcome to London, friends!" John smiled heartily as he made an elegant bow towards both Alaric and Reuben. "I am John Churchill, duke of Marlborough!"
