As the sound of the police car echoed outside, Darnley, who was about to go to bed, quickly jumped off and went to the window.
Faye sat on the bed with a cold face and called out, "Darnley, come back, don't mind other people's business."
"Faye, is someone dead at the door? Why did a hospital vehicle come?"
A hospital vehicle?
Faye was speechless, "That's a police car."
"How do you know?"
Faye was stunned, "I've lived in Eldoria for over twenty years, do you think I can't tell the difference between a police car's siren and an ambulance's?"
"Why is a police car here at our doorstep?"
"Why does a little kid ask so many questions? Come watch your story."
Just as she finished speaking, the doorbell rang again at the door.
Darnley said, "Grandfather Rivers went out."
Faye ignored him.
After a while, Darnley called out again, "Grandfather Rivers is back, and there's a police officer coming in with him."
Faye thought to herself, why is the police coming in?
