But that would certainly make him angry too, and then her days wouldn't be any more peaceful than they are now.

Lily Turner shook her head silently at Amelia Linton, and didn't make any sound to respond to her earlier question. It's not that she didn't want to speak; she just didn't know how to say it.
"What on earth do you mean by shaking your head? Are you not confused, or do you not know?" Amelia Linton didn't understand what Lily Turner's headshake meant and decided to dig deeper.
