A soft knock on the door jolted Aurora from her thoughts.
"Yes?" Aurora asked, her gaze fixed on the door.
"Ma'am, it's me, Tina… may I come in?"
After Alex left her here, she truly wished she could head downstairs and join the others instead of being alone in this room.
It was a tough time for her, especially without her laptop and when her cell phone battery ran out.
She feels much more at ease when someone finally comes to keep her company.
The tension in Aurora's expression gradually eased. "You can come in, aunty."
Tina rushes in and approaches Aurora in the seating area.
"Young ma'am, I'm happy to come here to accompany you. Are you alright? Do you need anything?"
"Hello, Aunty. How is it down there?" Aurora asked curiously, ignoring her question. Earlier, she tried to peek outside, but the window only faced the backyard. She couldn't see much down there.
