Chapter 229 - Chapter 229: No Habit of Repeating Words

"Uh…"

Hikigaya tried to step around her, but the tall silver-haired girl blocked him again.

He switched directions, but once more, she cut him off.

At this point, Hikigaya was sure it wasn't a coincidence.

Just as he was about to ask what was going on, the girl suddenly grabbed his wrist.

With surprising strength, she started dragging him away.

"Hey, wait a second—who are you?!"

The girl in front of him had no intention of answering, and then... Hikigaya suddenly realized that the surroundings looked very familiar.

Because… he had just left this place!

That's right, it was the fortune-telling line again!

Hikigaya: "..."

At that moment, the silver-haired girl finally let go of his hand and directly asked, "How much?"

"Huh?"

Hikigaya was completely confused by the sudden question. "Uh, excuse me..."

"I'm a second-year."

"Uh… senpai, is there some kind of misunderstanding here?"

"I don't repeat myself."

The silver-haired girl frowned slightly, clearly displeased with Hikigaya's response. "Aren't you doing this for money? I saw you earlier—first, you went in with a pink-haired girl, then just now with a short-haired blue girl. Now I'm alone and just happen to need a partner..."

Hikigaya finally understood what was going on, his expression turning a bit strange.

So, this silver-haired girl thought he was some kind of paid service provider?

"Finally found him!!!"

Just as Hikigaya was about to explain, a loud commotion erupted from not far away.

It was the same upperclassman he had scolded earlier while waiting in line. Now, that guy had brought a group of students with him. In the blink of an eye, Hikigaya and the silver-haired girl were completely surrounded.

Hikigaya was already cursing internally.

If it weren't for Ibuki and this silver-haired girl, he would have left long ago and wouldn't have been caught in this mess!

But on the surface, his expression remained unchanged.

The silver-haired girl beside him glanced at Hikigaya, seemingly surprised by his calmness.

However, before the upperclassman could even say a word, the silver-haired girl suddenly spoke up first.

"Get lost!"

"Kiryuin, this has nothing to do with you. Leave now, and we'll only deal with this first-year."

One of the upperclassmen said in a low voice.

"So, you're telling me to get lost?"

Kiryuin let out a cold laugh. "You're the first person who's ever dared to say that to me. You've got some nerve."

"..."

The upperclassmen exchanged uneasy glances, all wearing an expression that basically said, *I knew this would happen.*

Even Hikigaya looked at her strangely.

It seemed like this girl, Kiryuin, was someone they were all afraid of.

"Kiryuin, we don't want any trouble with you. As long as you leave—"

Before he could finish speaking, a sudden gust of wind from a fist was already heading straight for his face.

Caught off guard by Kiryuin's sudden move, the upperclassman stumbled back and fell to the ground.

"Damn it! Kiryuin, what the hell are you doing?!"

The group shouted in anger.

"I hate it when people act like they're doing me a favor."

Kiryuin tilted her chin up, looking down at them with an arrogant expression, completely unfazed.

Hikigaya couldn't help but take another look at this girl.

Just then, a laid-back voice came from the crowd.

"So, that's what's going on. Turns out Kiryuin is here too."

A blond-haired Nagumo slowly walked out, hands in his pockets.

The students who had been shouting earlier quickly made way for him, lowering their heads in obedience.

Nagumo accepted this treatment like it was the most natural thing in the world.

He carried himself like a king—both commanding and oppressive.

"But this time, it has nothing to do with you."

Nagumo turned his gaze to Hikigaya, a half-smile on his face. "Hikigaya? I already heard about what happened from Kinoshita, so… here I am."

"Nagumo! This dead-fish-eyed guy is the one who insulted you!"

The upperclassman Hikigaya had just dealt with quickly spoke up.

Kiryuin frowned slightly, about to say something, but Hikigaya spoke first. "Senpai, let me handle this."

"Nagumo… Vice President, since you already know what happened, then if you're just passing by, I'd be happy to say hello. But if you're here to stand up for your classmate, then I have only one thing to say."

Hikigaya met Nagumo's gaze without fear, his tone ice-cold. "Get lost."

As soon as he said that, the entire scene fell into an eerie silence. The upperclassman named Kinoshita and the surrounding students all looked shocked, while Kiryuin's eyes lit up with amusement.

"Hahahaha!!"

Nagumo suddenly threw his head back and laughed. "Hikigaya, do you even know what you're saying?!"

By the end of his sentence, his tone had turned dark, carrying a clear hint of anger and threat. The students around them could all hear it.

"Oh? Did the Vice President not hear me clearly?"

Hikigaya let out a cold laugh. "Should I repeat myself? Though, sorry—I don't make a habit of saying the same thing twice."

Kiryuin blinked in surprise before chuckling.

"A mere underclassman acting this cocky—you must have a death wish!!!"

Before Nagumo could speak, Kinoshita had already shouted, his anger obvious. But whether intentionally or not, he completely ignored Kiryuin and directed all his rage at Hikigaya.

"So, you got beaten and ran to call for backup? What's next, you'll call your grandpa? And you still have the nerve to talk big?"

Hikigaya fired back immediately, making Kinoshita's face turn red with embarrassment.

Then, Hikigaya turned his gaze to Nagumo. "In school, I respect your position and call you 'Vice President,' but that doesn't mean I'll back down on everything. I was standing in line with someone I like, but we kept getting harassed. Any guy would be pissed. Of course, if you think it's fine to just put up with it, then I can only say… impressive."

Nagumo frowned slightly, then glanced at Kinoshita. The guy looked flustered, and the students around him avoided Nagumo's gaze.

If Nagumo still couldn't figure out what was really going on, he might as well bash his head into a block of tofu.

The next second, a ruthless glint flashed in Nagumo's eyes—he suddenly kicked Kinoshita to the ground!
