Sera's Pov
The sky was blue.
Not the diluted blue of the dreamscape or the too-bright skies of the timeline we were originally from. This was our blue. Familiar. Sharp. Real. The clouds drifted like they had always done in this world—our world—and the sunlight filtered through the trees with that same golden clarity I'd missed more than I realized. The breeze carried the earthy scent of pine and dew and distance. It felt crisp against my skin, crisp and real.
But it wasn't the sunlight or the temperature or even the scent of home that confirmed we were back. It was deeper than that. It was the way my body settled into the earth with no resistance. We were back in our world—the one we'd been reincarnated into, the one we had fought so hard to survive in. It welcomed us, quietly, like we were pieces that finally returned to their rightful places.
