Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: Forced to Join

Chapter 38: Forced to Join

Yang Bo heard Liu Zhijie let out a startled cry, and several people in the crowd leaped into the air, flying away like shooting stars.

The next second, a dense beam of light struck the people who had flown away, completely obliterating them.

"Get inside, all of you. Anyone who refuses will be killed on the spot." The mecha fired while shouting loudly.

"This bunch of madmen." Liu Zijie cursed angrily.

"Hurry up, get inside." Despite his curses, Liu Zhijie left a parting remark and dashed off, paying no attention to Yang Bo.

Yang Bo also hurried toward the Dome Entertainment City. Behind him, he heard continuous explosions. Turning back, he saw many anti-gravity cars being blown apart, some even creating small mushroom clouds. He wondered what type of batteries they were using.

Yang Bo was almost pushed inside. In the exhibition hall he had been cleaning, he could see many people carrying several others, leaping dozens of meters, and quickly entering.

Some police cars and officers were blown up. The only weapon Yang Bo recognized was the high-frequency laser gun.

"Everyone listen up, we have hostages. Look." Suddenly, a loud voice rang out. On the billboard outside the exhibition hall, a red-haired man wearing medieval armor could be seen. He wore an ancient helmet, and his red cloak stood out prominently. In his hand was an ancient knight's sword, but it emitted a blue glow.

In front of him stood a well-dressed white man, who was particularly noticeable. The man's face was now pale.

"This is the Speaker of the Upper House of your Alliance. If you have the guts, use the railgun. And look, there are also several distinguished guests here—shareholders of Peace Technology Company, shareholders of Antai Bank, and diplomats from the Crimson Federation. Hmm." The man in knightly armor pointed his sword at each of them in turn.

"Red Earl, we have been silent for all these years. Today, I declare that we have returned. Such a grand moment must be celebrated with blood." The red-haired knight made an exaggerated gesture of raising both hands.

Then he swung his sword and pointed at the shareholders of Antai Bank: "You vampires, die!"

On the large screen, the shareholders of Antai Bank were dragged out and forced to kneel on the ground. At this point, it was noticed that there were many others dressed similarly, but the others wore black armor, while the red-haired youth wore silver armor.

Then, in full view of everyone, the shareholder was beheaded.

Many were stunned by the scene, and a crowd began to surge. Yang Bo was pushed and shoved, suddenly sensing something was wrong, only to realize he had been pushed toward the Blade Mecha.

Yang Bo felt something odd—the Blade Mecha seemed to resonate with him. The sensation was strange, as if he could control the mecha?

Outside the Dome Entertainment City, those who hadn't managed to get inside were hit by indiscriminate lasers, leaving them in a pitiful state. Yang Bo also noticed that when ordinary people were hit by the lasers, they were left with a large hole, burned by the laser. However, when gene-enhanced individuals were hit, they actually exploded?

"Is it because of the gene-enhanced individuals' own energy?"

For some reason, the fire suppression system suddenly activated, spraying countless streams of foam, or perhaps the system malfunctioned.

"Everyone must enter the concert venue immediately. Anyone not inside within twenty minutes will be killed." Another voice suddenly bellowed.

Everyone rushed to the concert venue. Yang Bo, on the other hand, stroked the Blade Mech, feeling it carefully.

Suddenly, his heart stirred, and the Blade Mech vanished. However, with so much firefighting foam on the scene, no one noticed this.

Yang Bo was somewhat stunned. He could sense the mecha, as if he had some kind of connection with it. The mecha seemed to be very far away, yet also very close.

It was like the magical artifact in a novel, allowing him to perceive the mecha's status—it was activated.

It seemed ready to be summoned for battle at any moment.

"Could it be because I absorbed the energy stone from the mech's spatial button?" Yang Bo muttered to himself.

  Dong dong dong!

At that moment, a series of thuds echoed from beneath the ground. The manhole covers of the nearby sewer system flew off, spewing a massive cloud of smoke and dust.

"Haha, not only have we destroyed the underground pipeline network, but we've also added some good stuff to it. If you don't want the entire city to be poisoned, I suggest you handle it quickly." The red-haired knight laughed loudly on the billboard.

  "Evil will eventually be punished."

"Glory will eventually shine upon the earth."

"We are justice, brave, fearless…" The red-haired man held his sword upright against his chest, muttering something to himself.

Yang Bo no longer cared about anything else; he followed the crowd rushing upward. Through the massive glass, he could see mechs appearing in the distance. These mechs were all silver, clearly military-standard equipment. The sky was filled with countless bright points, which gradually grew larger, and one by one, the robots were deployed onto the ground.

The entire planet was in chaos. The Dome Entertainment City had adopted a high-tech shielding system, rendering all surveillance equipment unable to see what was happening inside. Originally designed for background playback, it featured anti-interference and anti-shielding systems.

As for the Dome Entertainment City's control center, it had lost contact.

Upon reaching the control center level, Yang Bo noticed that the fire suppression foam had stopped spraying, but the ground was still covered in foam.

Yang Bo took advantage of the chaos to enter a shop adjacent to the control center, crawled under a counter, quickly removed all his clothing, and confirmed that he was indeed invisible.

His wristwatch had no signal, likely due to interference. He turned it off, hid it, along with his clothes and pants.

Yang Bo carefully avoided the firefighting foam, which was fortunately scarce here.

He successfully entered the control center, but seeing the violently damaged security door, he became even more cautious.

A security guard lay on the ground covered in blood. At the end of the corridor, a person wearing black armor and holding a laser gun stood with their face also covered by metal armor.

Yang Bo noticed the other person hadn't spotted him and watched their feet carefully as the armored figure looked around.

Yang Bo took the opportunity to enter an open room. Upon entering, he was startled to see a man with wide-open eyes, lying on his back, with a large hole in his chest. It appeared he had been attacked by some kind of cold weapon.

This must have been some kind of department. There were seven or eight dead bodies in the room, some with holes in their heads, others in other parts of their bodies. The marks all looked like they had been hit by laser guns, and there were also holes in the walls.

Yang Bo made his way to the break room. Thankfully, no one was there, so he let out a sigh of relief. He hid in a secluded corner and deactivated his invisibility, as maintaining it consumed a lot of energy.

Looking at his current appearance, Yang Bo wanted to find a piece of cloth to cover himself, but decided against it.

"Let's wait until things calm down," Yang Bo thought, deciding to wait until the situation resolved itself. With so many people around, it was impossible to kill them all.

  "Captain, it's done."

"Installing high-radiation bombs will definitely prompt the military to send their strongest forces here to seize control of the command center."

The two voices outside made Yang Bo curse under his breath. Damn it…
