Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: A Tricky Problem

Chapter 45: A Tricky Problem

However, after checking carefully, the nearest one was still more than ten kilometers away, and because of this incident, the entire planet had been locked down, so it was not recommended for residents to go out.

"Anyway, I'll keep the money and take a stroll around the area to clear my head." Yang Bo had no plans to log into the game either. Yesterday had been too eventful, and he hadn't yet decided what to do next.

Should he buy a bigger house to boost his strength, or keep the money to prepare for a quick escape?

"It seems like a bustling place, but who knows what dangers lurk here." Yang Bo stepped outside, watching the ground-to-air fighters patrolling the sky.

Ground-to-air fighters and space-to-ground fighters—ground-to-air fighters operate from space to the ground, while space-to-ground fighters operate from the ground to space. The specific differences seem to be in their affiliations: ground-to-air fighters belong to the space fleet, while space-to-ground fighters seem to belong to the planetary defense force.

Yang Bo didn't go far; he just strolled around the community. There were all kinds of trees and flowers here, and the community was quite populated. Since the entire planet had been completely sealed off, anyone who tried to fly would immediately be locked onto by countless weapons.

Mecha don't serve much purpose in this civilized world. According to Yang Bo's speculation, the reason why mecha companies are all large corporations might be because they have powerful enemies in certain areas. The mecha game he was playing was probably set on a planet in the midst of a struggle.

"Is it all for those alien beast materials?" Yang Bo dared to speculate in his heart. The reason why alien beasts are valuable in the game is probably because they are used as raw materials for genetic agents.

Upon arriving at a small lake, even before approaching it, he heard someone humming a song, causing Yang Bo to furrow his brows slightly.

Upon reaching the lakeside, he saw a girl wearing a loose hoodie, her face covered, and wearing sunglasses.

This attire was quite normal, as many residents in this world dressed this way when going out, since they rarely interacted with others, their reclusive tendencies nearly maxed out.

Though the song's rhythm sounded beautiful, Yang Bo felt an inexplicable sense of irritation. He had been walking toward her, but when he was still several meters away, he turned and walked in the opposite direction.

The woman humming the song stopped abruptly, turned her head, and looked at Yang Bo. She was quite surprised—this person had been walking toward her, so what made him turn around and walk in the opposite direction?

She was well aware of her own abilities, so this shouldn't have happened.

"Sir?" The woman couldn't help but call out.

"Hm?" Yang Bo heard the woman calling him from behind and turned around to look at her.

The woman was startled when she heard Yang Bo respond, but she still asked, "Sir, did my humming disturb you?"

"No, I just prefer a quiet environment." Yang Bo shook his head and turned to walk away.

As he walked, Yang Bo felt a bit surprised: "I didn't expect to run into her here."

Yang Bo had felt something was off earlier. The song the woman was humming was popular in this world, and he had heard it before, but why did it feel so uncomfortable?

When the woman spoke, Yang Bo felt her voice was jarring, and suddenly remembered that at Li Aiduo's concert, he had felt uncomfortable the moment Li Aiduo started singing.

He had used the sound waves of her voice to probe earlier, and sure enough, she was a genetically evolved individual. Judging by her height and build, there was a 99% chance she was Li Aiduo.

Li Aiduo looked at Yang Bo leaving with suspicion, furrowing her brows slightly. She recalled the whistling sound she had heard in the basement of the stage at the Dome Entertainment City yesterday. She was highly sensitive to sounds; once she heard someone's voice, she would never forget it.

Later, the police also informed him that the mysterious ace mecha pilot had mysteriously disappeared.

"He's too young. The ace mecha pilots I know aren't this young," Li Aiduo frowned slightly.

He then stood up and left, with the bodyguards in the distance slowly following behind.

Li Aiduo also lived in this community, having been temporarily relocated here. The situation at the hotel was a bit chaotic this time…

Upon returning to his residence, Li Aiduo picked up a pen and began drawing. He finished quickly, and the subject of his drawing was Yang Bo.

Yang Bo took a stroll, thought it through, and decided to buy a house first. Increasing his strength was the top priority. When faced with real danger, no amount of money would be useful—only strength mattered.

Yang Bo also decided not to go back to the game for now. To convert skills into practical combat ability, he still needed some practical combat training.

He checked around when he got home and found that real estate transactions and such had all stopped.

Sitting on the sofa, Yang Bo touched his forehead: "There are unknown people keeping an eye on me. I don't know who they are. The Red Earl Organization has infiltrated the military. I hope they don't end up attacking the planet with warships, or things will get complicated."

"There's also An Zhi Jie Company. Liu Fatso is clearly setting a trap for me."

"The more you know about this world, the more insignificant you feel."

"Sigh, what is freedom?"

Yang Bo stood up and looked at the house where he had obtained the mecha space button. Earlier, he had passed by there and conducted a reconnaissance; the items inside the room had not been moved.

Yang Bo wasn't sure if that place had been targeted, and he had his own troubles to deal with.

That was the accessory he had bought, identical to the mecha space button. He had originally intended to make the Red Count suffer in silence, but if the planetary security agency discovered it, investigating might be straightforward, as the purchase history of such accessories could be traced.

"Damn it." Yang Bo was now hesitating about whether that place might be under surveillance by the security department.

Yang Bo was frustrated, but he had to deal with it.

He went down to the basement, which was both a parking area and where Yang Bo charged his devices. He cleared his throat—no one was around.

He found a secluded spot, took off his clothes and pants, then went invisible and headed straight to the same place he'd been before.

In the stairwell, Yang Bo snapped his fingers and carefully sensed the surroundings, finding nothing unusual.

He instantly destroyed the internal structure of the door lock—this was also a flaw, as the material could be traced.

Invisibly entering the house, Yang Bo carefully examined the traces he had left behind and found no one had been there.

"Did I kill them all myself?" Yang Bo muttered to himself.

He picked up the fake he had bought and was about to leave when he suddenly noticed the old oil painting. Yang Bo's heart skipped a beat. This thing must be important. If the authorities discovered it, they might launch a thorough investigation, and he wasn't sure if he had left any traces behind.

"I'm actually cleaning up after these guys," Yang Bo thought as he carefully inspected the painting and took it down. It wasn't in a frame but hung like a scroll.

He looked around again and saw nothing suspicious, then quickly left.

If anyone had seen him, they would have noticed a painting floating through the hallway.

Upon arriving in the basement, Yang Bo felt a chill run down his spine. What should he do with this hot potato in his hands?

"I wonder if I can store it inside the mecha, but where would I even deploy the mecha?" Yang Bo could only take the hot potato back to his own home.
