Lan Qiang crossed his arms and thought for a second,
"Hi Li, you said you have long range? What kind of firepower are we talking about here?"
Hou felt his sun laws and then circulated them in his hands, just body cultivation to show the laws, then he said,
"Quite strong, I also have a long range slicing attack but I've never used it."
Hou was referring to the Bloodbane Dimensional Severing Ring. It was still highly sealed but just from his Celestial Law Amplifying Physique's unique blood it was unsealed enough to use.
However, he's never used it but he's been wearing it just in case. In addition he had some moves he was taught by Mo Huai which he could use to shoot out the sun laws.
Lan Qiang pulled his spear from his back and held it out in front,
"Then Hei Feng, you go in front. You'll do the most out of us all. I'll go mid range and support you. Then Hu Li, you stay back and fight from afar. However, you said you could go up close too, so if Hei Feng is injured you take over."
Hou nodded,
"That sounds like a plan, I'll be trusting you then."
"It's nothing, I should be thanking you. Being in a team is much safer, even if the points are split up. It can also show the examiners we can work together, which is a plus."
And so, the team formed. Hou, disguised as He Li: Hamar, disguised as Hei Feng: Lan Qiang.
They walked around the test site, a huge area with multiple different biomes and climates. From plains, to forests, to mountains, to caves.
Fir the first few hours they did not meet anyone. Then as they started ascending a mountain, they heard noises. Noises were sounding out from in front of them, Lan Qiang threw out his hand and whispered back,
"Do either of you have any investigative techniques?"
Almost simultaneously, both Hamar and Hou raised their hands and nodded. Lan Qiang sighed and then said,
"Both of you, use your investigative techniques and explore outwards, recon the team in front."
Hou was the first to move and sat down in a cross-legged position. He started to activate the Vast Eyes technique. This was the move that Mo Huai used on him in Qi Prism. He wasn't taught the technique with the cognition laws but Yue memorised it perfectly.
Yue was inside the Celestial Law Amplifying Physique and so controlled the body, knowing it's every condition. This meant he could now use his won willpower and recreate the formation Mo Huai made and filled with cognition laws in order to use the Vast Eyes technique. He did not need to know how it worked, only how to make it.
He used space laws and activated the Vast Eyes technique, however he used it on Yue's consciousness and intuition. Hou has his quasi-Nascent Soul and his intuition had changed, he did not risk amplifying it with the Vast Eyes techniques and perhaps not gaining anything. Instead Yue used his own consciousness and intuition.
He spread his intuition far forwards and spotted a group of three people, with moderate strength. Hou estimated he could win against eithe rone of them, but it would be a little struggle.
Simultaneously as Hou was doing his technique, Hamar was using his own. Nobody in the outside but him used aura and so he did not need to worry too much about being detected. He spread his aura out intangibly, not visible.
And when he did he noticed more than Hou had, he found there were three people; but there was a fourth person in the cliffs above that group. First, Hou spoke out his results,
"I see three people, pretty strong but definitely more than do-able with the three of us, I estimated"
Hmar then clicked his tongue and wagged his finger back and forth,
"There are three people but you missed one thing; there's a fourth person. Up there in the cliffs looking over the three man group"
Lan Qiang saw this and held out his hand, then after a moment of thought he spoke,
"I can see two possibilities: one, the fourth observer is a friend of the three sent to recon, or protect. Two, the fourth is someone like us, an outside observer. To me, I think the bet option is to go to the three man group as we intended but inform them of the fourth observer. If they're affiliated we'll know and if they're not we can team up."
Hamar nodded and crossed his arms,
"I agree, that is the best option. I suspect it's the second option and the fourth person is an outsider."
Hou however shook his head,
"I think it's more likely the first and since I couldn't detect the fourth they must be strong. I say we just go past and not risk anything."
Lan Qiang shook his head as if debating something in his head then he jolted. He rummaged in his robe and pulled out two die. He held them in each of his hands and spoke to Hou and Hmar,
"Then let's do this, Hu Li throws a die, Hei Feng throws a die. Whoever gets a higher number, decided what we do. Fair and even then."
Hou nodded and seemingly approved this option but he did say,
"Why do you have two dice on you?"
"I like gaming and gambling on it, they're also useful for divining and deciding options like this. I always have them on me"
Hou acknowledge it and then threw his dice out, it rolled for a bit until it landed on it's final face. Facing upwards were three dots, three pips. Hamar saw this and blew on his dice before throwing it out, it rolled further but then landed.
Hou let out a breath and leant back,
"I guess you win, Hei Feng. Rolling a six, what luck,"
Hamar smiled and said his decision,
"Let's do like what Lan Qiang said, go to the three man group and tell them of the fourth observer."
Land Qiang picked his his dice and rubbed them clean, putting them back into his robe. Then he swung his spear and spun in, throwing it back onto his holster. He then looked forward and poje aloud, no hushed whispers,
"Then, let's go!" He swung his head and gestured for Hou and Hamar to follow.
As the group approached the new people, they saw what they looked like and Lan Qiang spoke,
"Friendly! We're friendly, see spear holstered, we come in peace." He raised his hands into the air.
They saw what the three man group looked like. It was made up of one man and two women. The man had short red hair and wore a tunic and trousers. He had large metal gauntlets with spikes on the knuckles. One woman was smaller and wore a light blue dress, holding fan in front of her face. The other woman, however, wore a deep red dress which showed off her alluring figure. She had a mask over her face and in between each finger, she held needles.
