Aaah, nothing like a good fight and a little shouting to improve my mood. I say this because I'm sitting on a pile of supernatural creatures.

Doppelgangers, gargoyles (because it seems more unlikely), chimeras, deblets and what I think is a human possessed by a ghost.

I'm already used to these attacks, but this crap has become more frequent this month. Just for the record, it's been 3 months since that with the jewel of the soul.Doppelgangers, gargoyles (because it seems more unlikely), chimeras, deblets and what I think is a human possessed by a ghost.

I'm already used to these attacks, but this crap has become more frequent this month. Just for the record, it's been 3 months since that with the soul gem.

I've been doing well since then, but this is already rising to annoying levels. The other day, I had to fight a bunch of devils inside the school while doing my best not to get anyone's attention. And look, I almost got missed because of that.

I had already realized that these attacks seemed to increase in scale over time, but now that I stopped to analyze and think, it even seems ridiculous.

Fate gave me that seal to make it harder to locate me, but almost every day a supernatural creature appears. It's even ridiculous.

What's the explanation? Are you going to tell me that the greatest magician in the DC universe can't do a decent camouflage spell? Or that he purposely made an incorrect spell for these creatures to reach me?

I doubt it a lot.

In DC, it is very easy to take a meta-human or a talented magician and turn him into a private energy generator or a slave without conscience. I'm sure this must have happened more than once.

So it wouldn't make sense for him to leave me unprotected knowing that if I fell into the wrong hands, an unprecedented global disaster could be created. It would make more sense to throw myself into a well with food and water instead of leaving me without any protection.

My theory is that who is sending these creatures to me is Fate himself or someone connected to him. Think about it, it makes perfect sense.

Before leaving, he said I needed "field experiences" and proper magic training. And a few weeks later, what appears to me? A lot of supernatural beings, which I can easily kill, with some even knowing magic?

It's too convenient.

And the fact that the level of the creatures I'm facing increases over time also fits a lot in this theory. Somehow (most likely magic) Fate has been watching me and analyzing my development, evaluating my level of power and gradually increasing the level of my challenges. It's too convenient.

And that makes total sense with his character. Fate is a serious, analyst and meticulous character in almost everything he does, so he even makes sense to have chosen such a radical and specific training method for someone like me. Any eventuality, he could simply show up and save me.

Just thinking about it already gives a headache. I don't think I could think so far ahead if I didn't have prior knowledge about DC and Fate itself. But that also leaves the question, how much of me does he already know?

Did he read my thoughts and find out who I really am? Does he already know the true nature of my powers? How does he see me now, as a threat or an ally?

Who would have thought that my biggest concern in a universe of superheroes would be a human magician who wears a helmet that is not stylish... how strange the world is.

For now it's better to go home. It's late and I'm tired, these bastards really demanded a lot from me now.

They weren't really strong, but there were many and they were much better than my previous opponents, the doppelgangers now knew how to use magic, the chimeras changed shape to take on characteristics of other animals and the devils were a little smarter this time.

In addition, the gargoyles were very resistant and more intelligent than the others, knowing that they had no magic, they were the ones who gave me the most work in this fight.

I'm exhausted now. My energy is almost over, my whole body is hurting while I used what I still had left of energy to heal the injuries of the fight and I was with a fucked up headache after using too many powers in sequence.

One thing I discovered is that to use powers you need physical and mental energy. Physical energy to use power without damaging the body and mental energy to regulate the intensity of power.

That's why it's so normal for some people to lose control of their powers when they are very mentally shaken. A very agitated or confused mental state can end up interfering with the passage and transfer of mental energy, causing that when someone uses power they may end up getting out of control.

Use too many powers in sequence and you will end up demanding too much from your body and mind, as I just did now. I was practically on the verge of collapse during the whole fight, because my body and my mind couldn't stand the weight I was putting on them.

What helped me was that I don't depend only on mental and physical energy. The quantum energy and the soul gem helped a lot, otherwise I would already be dead now.

After some more time resting, I got up from the pile of bodies and started walking out of the park where I was.

It's past midnight and I should be sleeping now. But unfortunately I had the brilliant idea of taking a night walk and look where I ended up.

Dude, I should have stayed in ca-

I was standing in place like a statue. I didn't know why, I just stopped out of nowhere when I felt a strong pain in my chest.

I slowly directed my vision down, only to see a gray hand with sharp claws piercing my chest.

Suddenly, something hot with a strange taste began to drip from my mouth. I didn't have to think much to understand it was blood.

I slowly turned my head back, only to see a gargoyle with its skin all cracked with a black liquid dripping from the cracks while she had a smile on her face looking at me.

A few hours later, almost at dawn, you could see in the Metropolis park a strange golden cocoon near the entrance.

Then, cracks began to appear in the cocoon, as if it were made of glass, and then it broke into several pieces, with a figure emerging from inside it panting.

This was Adrian, who had just died a few hours ago.

Adrian Pov

What...

The...

Fuck...

Was this!?

I died. It wasn't impression, hallucination or a near-death experience. I died... again.

I've died once and I know very well what it's like. The cold that takes over you, the feeling of feeling your consciousness fading little by little and the emptiness that takes care of you after closing your eyes.

So I can confirm with all the certainty in the world, I died. But how am I still "alive"? Think Adrian, Think...

... That! How could I forget myself!? This is another of Adam's powers.

In comics, whenever he dies. He resurrects some time later stronger than before. This is one of the powers that makes him one of the strongest heroes for me.

The simple fact that he is practically immortal (because until today he has not been killed definitively) and still comes back stronger after each death, is one of his most impressive abilities.

Sometimes I forget that I'm just a smaller version of Warlock. I expected to have most of his powers, but this is already a completely different level.

Does that mean I can't die permanently? Or was that just luck and my rebirth power isn't the same as Adam's? Well, I don't feel like finding out.

I need to go back home now. Looking at the sky, it should not be missing for the sun to rise and I need to go back before my parents wake up.

For some reason I am completely recovered physically and mentally, and my reserves have been fully replenished, even larger than before. In fact, I feel much more powerful than before now. It must be the effect of the resurrection.

For now, it's better to leave and come back home. I'll think about the rest later.

While Adrian was flying away, he unfortunately did not notice the figure in blue and red uniform from the moment he had been reborn.

Little did he know that this small mistake would bring terrible consequences to his "normal" lifestyle.

But it's impossible to be normal with Adrian's powers.
