Chapter 65 - Chapter 64: Fugaku, Why the Hell Don’t You Just Fight the Third Hokage Already?!

Just as Kaze approached Kakashi with the blade in hand, a stern voice called out:

"Stop right there!"

That sharp command came from none other than Uchiha Fugaku, who had just rushed over in a panic. His sudden arrival made Kaze halt mid-step, while the other Uchiha turned their heads toward him in unison.

Fugaku's face was deathly pale, all calm and composure from earlier completely gone—

A stark contrast to Kaze's laid-back and composed demeanor.

And honestly? You couldn't blame Fugaku for reacting this way.

He had just returned from the Hokage's office when he heard something had gone wrong at the Konoha Police Department.

And the moment he remembered that hot-headed lunatic Kaze was stationed there—

His stomach dropped.

On the way over, even before arriving, he saw it:

A bunch of ANBU sprawled out in front of the Police HQ like dominoes.

Some were heavily injured.

Some weren't even moving.

Fugaku's scalp went numb.

These weren't just any ANBU—They were the Hokage's personal guard!

They had come under direct orders from the Third Hokage himself to retrieve Shisui's corpse.

And yet now… every single one of them, including Hatake Kakashi, was down for the count.

And as for Kaze…

He was standing there calm as ever, a samurai sword in hand.

What was he doing?

No—what the hell was he thinking?!

Inhale… exhale… inhale…

Fugaku took deep breaths, trying to suppress his rising panic.

But it was no use.

He was utterly shaken—Partly because this reckless brat had dared to attack the ANBU,And partly because…

This reckless brat could actually fight.

He took down twelve ANBU—Solo.

Including Kakashi, one of the most well-known prodigies in the village.

This kind of strength…

Even among elite jōnin, Kaze would be considered top-tier.

Fugaku hurried over to Kaze in long strides and snapped,

"Kaze, what the hell is going on here?"

Kaze paused, then calmly replied,

"Clan Head Fugaku, these ANBU were trying to take Brother Shisui's body."

"As deputy captain of the Konoha Police, I have a duty to uphold the prestige of the department."

Fugaku: "???"

What kind of bullshit logic was that?!

"I know about this!" Fugaku nearly lost it. "The Hokage personally gave the order to retrieve Shisui's remains—and I agreed to it too! Didn't they tell you that?!"

Face full of black lines, Fugaku turned and gestured hastily to the other Uchiha.

Help the ANBU up. Heal them. Immediately.

But just as he was about to walk over and offer Kakashi an apology—

Kaze stepped in front of him.

"I don't really get what you mean, Clan Head."

"What do you mean you 'agreed to it'?"

"Why did you agree to something like this?"

Kaze frowned slightly, his stance making it clear—he had no intention of handing over Shisui's body.

The surrounding Uchiha clan members turned their attention to the two of them, watching the confrontation unfold.

Uchiha Sei couldn't help but whisper a reminder to Kaze:"Watch your tone. You're talking to the clan head."

No matter how you looked at it, Fugaku was still the clan leader, and the commander of the Police Department.

But Kaze ignored the warning and said firmly,

"The original purpose of the Konoha Police Department was to maintain peace in the village and to arrest those with criminal intent—ninja or otherwise."

"Shisui wasn't just a skilled ninja of the village—he was someone we all respected, someone we called big brother."

"Whether emotionally or logically, it's our job to investigate the truth behind his death and bring his killer to justice."

"Why should we hand over his body to the ANBU?"

"Do we not have the authority to investigate this within our own department?"

His voice rang out, powerful and unwavering.

He didn't just appeal to logic, but to emotion. To duty, and to clan loyalty.

"If we aren't even allowed to investigate the death of someone like Shisui…""…then what's the point of the Police Department even existing?"

"We might as well disband the whole thing."

His words were like a lightning bolt.

Even the clan members who had been siding with Fugaku began to frown and murmur among themselves.

Kaze was right.

Shisui was the best among them.

If his death wasn't even worth investigating…

Then what did they stand for?

"Clan Head, I think Kaze makes a good point."

"Exactly. Shisui was one of us. If we just stand by and let this happen, who else is going to speak up for him?"

Uchiha Sei and others voiced their agreement.

And just like that—Fugaku found himself in a tight spot.

One side was his clan. The other, the will of the Hokage.

As the clan head, he was trapped in an impossible position.

"Haaah..." Fugaku sighed heavily, trying to de-escalate.

"You've misunderstood the Hokage's intention."

"We are in charge of investigating Shisui's death. The Police Department has been given that task."

"But we were asked to turn over the bodies of Shisui and the others to ANBU custody afterward."

"You should understand," he added, "the ANBU have two iron-clad rules."

"First—no corpses left behind.""Second—they must wear masks in all standard operations."

He looked around at the clan members as he explained, hoping for their understanding.

The truth was, Fugaku had already seen through the Hokage's intention—

The Third didn't want the investigation leading to the higher-ups in the village.

Fugaku himself didn't want to stir up more trouble either.

Because if something did come out of an autopsy, it would just bring a mountain of consequences with it.

But Kaze still wouldn't back down.

"Clan Head Fugaku—have you still not realized the seriousness of this?"

"At best, this is a matter of internal security gone wrong."

"At worst… someone is targeting our bloodline limit."

That silenced the crowd.

Because no matter how you looked at it—

Shisui wasn't just killed.

His Sharingan eyes were missing.

That fact alone made it a case of bloodline theft.

And for anyone who possessed a bloodline limit…

That kind of thing was the most terrifying possibility of all.

Suddenly, every Uchiha present went pale.

The implications were clear—and they were horrifying.

"Kaze..." Fugaku called out, but his voice was quieter now.

Almost hesitant.

Fugaku sucked in a sharp breath.

Since when did Kaze get so sharp-tongued?He used to be the quiet type, barely ever showing off.But lately…

His words had become sharper than kunai.

Even as the clan head, Fugaku found himself speechless.

Still, worried things might spiral out of control, Fugaku could only grit his teeth and say:

"This was the decision of the Third Hokage. Are you saying you're going to question his authority?"

He thought mentioning the Hokage would shut Kaze up.

He couldn't have been more wrong.

"Fugaku… why the hell don't you just go fight the Third Hokage already?"Kaze gave him a look like he'd just watched him fumble a mission—equal parts frustrated and disappointed.

And just like that, everyone froze.

The entire area went dead silent.

Did… did he really just say that?

This kid… he really dared to say anything.

Did he not realize that the Hokage was the highest authority in Konoha?

A shinobi whose power towered over tens of thousands of ninja?

One of the strongest in the entire world?

The Third Hokage—Sarutobi Hiruzen—was a living legend.

A "Ninja Hero" known throughout the Five Great Nations.

Who would be crazy enough to fight someone like that?

Both Fugaku and the still-paralyzed Kakashi's faces darkened instantly.

Their minds echoed with that single, reckless sentence:

"Why don't you just go fight the Third Hokage?"

Fugaku stood frozen.

Just staring.

Kaze sighed and waved his hand dismissively."Forget it."

"You don't need to worry about investigating Shisui's death anymore."

"I'll take full responsibility for it myself."

"If anything goes wrong, I'll deal with the consequences alone."

He turned to Uchiha Sei, voice calm but firm:

"Sei, the clan head has had a long day. He's exhausted.""Please escort him to the Police Department's lounge so he can get some rest."

His voice wasn't loud, but every single word was delivered with razor-sharp clarity.

No hesitation. No doubt.

(T/N: Fax. Why doesn't he just go and fight monkey? Anyway hope you all enjoyed the chapter. Also sorry for the delay. I was busy with something.)
